I have to agree with you on Dip Bayless.
As an Aggie, I agree with you. Defense is the question mark, and Manziel staying healthy. Offense is loaded with 3 5 star RB's, tons of talent at WR/TE, and a great Offensive line. Defense is really thin, need to stay healthy. A&M has recruited defense well, but that will do little to help this year.
I agree, they can't all be pearls.

Sorry for delayed response ... work took priority.
First, you're comparing JM to VY - that's a mighty big reach. That said, I agree the quick feet ad-lib QB is tough to D regardless of how much film you see.
IMO the ad-lib approach w QB's scrambling can work really well (AM 2012) or can be disastrous ie QB broken in half. AM, with Sumlin at the helm, was a team the SEC had not prepared for, nor were built to defend. Now they have film, they have the brains, to contain the ad-lib running QB - will they do it effectively 100%? Of course not, Sumlin is a smart dude, he'll figure out how to score points regardless.
Point is JM was a ghost to the SEC DC's last year. That won't be the case next year. He'll be boxed in and forced to make sideline throws in the pocket, or dump off to his RB or TE - can he do it, jury is out. IMO he's going to follow his instincts and run .... and get mauled by a DT when he's not looking. I'll be shocked if he finished the year without missing a couple of games ... and when they back up comes in watch out, SEC defense will be blitzing their asses off and their 3rd string QB better be warming up/
