Nice read. I'll be watching at home having nursed many hotty-toddy's pre game.
To say the buildup heading into Saturdays tilt between Ole Miss and No. 14 Texas is enormous is a vast understatement. The quaint southern tow

Those Texas sips always coming in and throwing money around.
Good read. When I went to the USC game at the Rose Bowl, I just happened to run into a member of the Tournament of Roses Committee. He raved about the economic impact UT fans had for the back to back Rose Bowls. He said it far surpassed any Big Ten fanbase. When I asked about the OU fans. He rolled his eyes and said, "All of those Okies came out in their RVs, which were filled to the brim with all the food they brought with them from Oklahoma and spent about $24 a day in Southern California. Meanwhile, the Texas fans came out in droves, filling every premium hotel room from here to Vegas, filling up our best restaurants three times a day and spending money like there was no tomorrow."
"I've heard some of our fans say, 'We were always an SEC school. We just didn't know it," athletic director Bill Byrne said.
+1 Good read, thx for posting.
Ole Miss has always been a team I've sort of rooted for.
My best friend when I was a kid was from Mississippi and his family moved back there when I was 11 or 12. They moved back to New Albany, which is not at all far from Oxford. This was in the late 60's and he kept sending me letters with clippings about Archie Manning and all. We kept in touch through college and I actually spent a week with him at Ole Miss one summer.
I've lost touch with my buddy, but he was living in Jackson ten years ago. If any of you guys are staying in or pass through New Albany on the Bankhead Highway see if the French's floral shop is still open. That was his mom and dad's business. My buddy's folks have got to be in their late 70's/80's by now if they are still alive.
So disappointed that I'm not able to go to this game. Damn the legal job market for new graduates.
When did Texas fans start wearing jorts?
Just to clarify, I was being facetious.
There is no damn way Campbell McCool is a real name.
Looks like it's still there.
