(I'm not complaining at all, we have again, one of the top three classes in the nation) Is this the first time since when we haven't had a 5 star?
As of right now there are no 5 stars in Texas fyi. I'd be willing to bet that changes at some point, and at least one of Swoopes/James/RSJ/Raulerson/Perkins/Robinson gets the bump.
Also to answer your question, according to rivals we didn't have a 5 star in Colt's class (05) and I think there was one more time in 07 or 08.
National Director of Scouting & Recruiting Analyst
Frankly, I dont know why the recruiting services even bother with star ratings this early. Rivals has about a dozen 5* rated out of about a 30 some-odd they give yearly and Scout has about 35 five star ratings out of about 50 they give yearly. If you wanted to you could take any of the prioritized list and simply see where Texas recruits fall on that list based on how many 5* ratings they give per year. For instance, since Scout gives out about 50 five stars per year and, since they have published their top 300 list, you could conclude that, as of right now, Scout would rate 5 Texas recruits as 5* in 2013 with two ready to move into the rating.
1) Ricky Seals-Jones (8) — TEXAS
2) Tyrone Swoopes (10) — TEXAS
3) Jake Raulerson (42) — TEXAS
4) A'Shawn Robinson (43) — TEXAS
5) Darius James (48) — TEXAS
6) Kent Perkins (52) — TEXAS
7) Jake Oliver (53) — TEXAS
again, dont know why this matters very much but...
