There seems to be a steady stream of empty speculation re the football program. What if 40% of the starters in football were looking to leave (one to the draft). Wouldn't that be news worthy of speculation?
I'll grant that football is the driver of subscriptions and revenue and thus garners the lions share of coverage.
But the 40% of the basketball starting roster only adds up to an handful of people and its a lot harder to get sources for decisions still in people's heads.
I know its just me, but basketball has always seemed more of a "report after confirmation" sport than the speculation in football due to all of the extra sources and the year round structure of the events.
Hahaha....gosh. Is this the consensus amongst the mods as well? SAD SAD SAD!
I can't believe he said that. Nothing is going on. That almost sounds like Dodds "Barnes is not going anywhere". I guess they just go to work and all sit at their desk. They could be sending in questions to hookem about the football team. Are you serious? Nothing, give me a break. I get more info from NY Horn and Bierce then I do from here. David Behr you can't be serious with that statement.
Not too surprising about things being quiet for the last week anyway, since it has been a dead/quiet period since April 1, and Texas had just finished landing Harris to (maybe) complete the 2013 class. However, surely the coaches will be heading out to take looks at 2014s in a few days, and I hope we get some news about that.

While we are "Waiting for Godot", maybe we could have a discussion about the secular, religious, and pagan influences on our holidays ... What? Too Sixth Street?
.....................or we could discuss you!
"Leadership is wisdom, courage and great carelessness of self"
Ah! Absurdism! My favorite topic! ;)
This thread amuses me.
We gotsa have some amusements while we are Waiting for Godot!
I am all out of upvotes for all you willing basketball thread participants ... so you'll have to wait til past midnight ... not that it matters. ;)

NY do you care to elaborate?
BTW It is interesting that while this thread asks several times why a sport is not covered ...........the top dog posts several comments around this thread but never answers the customers concerns................

Ding! Ding! Ding! You wins the InterWEBZ!!! ;)
I say we bump this thread out of the park until Godot gets here! Oy! My foot hurts! I must remove my boot! ;)
Didn't mean to imply nothing news worthy has happened since the Houston loss. We posted the Bond and McClellan news when it happened. Right now I don't think anybody knows exactly what's going to happen with Lewis and Kabongo. I meant when we know something about either of those upcoming decisions we'll let you know - it's just been very quiet on that front.
I'm posting just because it's a baketball thread, and I want to acknowledge the contributions of the core basketball posters, most of whom are represented on this thread. Thanks, guys.
In a follow up--
Any chance for a fourth signee this year? Thinking someone with length and athleticism at 3 or 4.
Chris Griffin just decommitted from Rutgers. 6'7" wing who played as a freshman for Murray State, sat a year, played a year in juco at Wabash Valley and was being recruited by Gonzaga (among others) for 2013.
Murray State bio
Definitely needs to recover his shooting touch after missing the first half of the year. (BTW, minutes played are all screwed up. No way this guy took 131 fg attempts in 117 minutes.)
I can't find any video, but in the spirit of early studies of Isaiah Taylor, I will say it is not this guy.
Hitting a clutch 3 pointer with 10 seconds left
OK, bierce! That video is just great! I expected a "Waiting for Godot" reference from you, and I get a "Godot has left the Building" video! I have been saying that we need a 3 or 4 with length and athleticism for a while. So, I will check out your guy. I think that you do not understand how you may have saved this thread from "Death by Literary Reference". Cue the crickets! ;)
Postscript: And spring peepers and toads. This is how it sounds outside my house in the Spring and Summer when we are not in a drought. I need about fifty Kelso's outside the house just to get through the night - you know, Get off my lawn!. Man! That's a scary thought!

I had thought of referring to certain players with a propensity to not share the rock with the line, "Come on, _____, return the ball, can't you, once in a while?" but Beckett was never really my thing.
Of course, doing nothing has been for many years, I suppose.

I have been wondering how you could get away with making so many posts during the day. I just hope you have good luck getting your boots off ... and then ... there is the dog.
I like you basketball guys. Just watch who you walk in on.
Just that it's obviously being avoided by Bobby, even though he runs the site. Also the abundance of quality questions that are left unanswered which is forcing Dave to try to cover up and say there is nothing to report....
Talking about a job i would love to have!
French theater of the absurd plays at multiple levels for this thread.
Sorry for the delay. As Dave said, Gerry has been swamped. 247 is rolling out some AWESOME new database stuff that comes out next week. It's crunch time for them. I let him know earlier and will get him in here tomorrow for sure.
I wish I had more details, recruiting wise, for yall. However, I don't.
In case anyone missed my story on five-star prospect Kelly Oubre from Saturday, here it is:
2014 five-star small forward Kelly Oubre is hearing from all the usual suspects. Despite Texas struggles this season, go inside to see why the Horns are in the race.
