Cleveland is destined to always suck. I hope Colt gets out of that craphole.
Well, now I officially hate Brandon Weeden.
No way 66...there is no competition...you don't use a first for a 29 year old QB and open it up....they made their decision on Colt right there....
Me, too. I sure hope Colt is able to go to a team with some real playmakers!
While I am biased, Weedeb is truly a terrible pick - especially for Cleveland. If you are drafting a 29 year old qb; you better be a team that can start winning soon. Weeden doesn't have the wear & tear of most 29 year old qb's but he has more than a 22-23 year old qb. They can't expect much from him his rookie year so he won't really be productive until his 2nd year at best and then he is already 30 yrs old. He also could have been had in the 2nd round. Weeden needed to go to a team that wasn't in total rebuilding mode. It's a losing situation for all involved.
Hightower needs a new suit guy. Probably that dude in Tuscaloosa that hooks the Bammers up. Kirkpatrick's outfit was horrendous. Confirmed when Deion was giving him props.
NFL front offices are stuffed with some of the most insular, backwards people in pro sports. The value being placed on the QB position has become absolutely ridiculous...but I guess if everyone is parroting the same bullshit, then what can you do.
Obviously having a good QB is imperative to having a good team in today's NFL, but using up extremely valuable picks on guys like Tannehill and Weeden is insane.
Baseball coaches and front offices used to be known as backwards, narrow-minded traditionalists, but MLB management has become very progressive and forward thinking over the past 10 years when it comes to talent evaluation and acquisition. It feels like NFL management is moving in the opposite direction.
Dallas needs to trade for Colt and sit him untill after the 2013 season, there is an opt out clause in Romos contract, i think romo will retire before he needs to. they should groom colt like GB did with Rodgers.
The great importance placed on the QB position is not group think or bullshit. It is very real.
You cannot win without a QB.
Now this is an idea I can endorse. I would think Colt could be had pretty cheap too.
You don't draft a QB in the first round if you're going to let him compete with another young guy.
You don't draft a QB in the first round unless you know he's better than the guy you have. Those picks are extremely valuable.
Romo is 10x the NFL QB that Colt is. I'm a Texans fan BTW. No Cowboys homer.
WHO IS AJ JENKINS?
I don't get it.
If you like boom or bust guys, you will love the Texans' pick. Dude was a monster this last season with 16 sacks and 22.5 TFL. If he pans out, the Texans got a legit pass rusher and can bring Brooks Reed off the bench. If he flops, they missed on some really good players.
I like the Texans pick a lot.
You can never have too many pressure players
Me too, plus he has a badass name... Hopefully we pick up a solid WR tomorrow and kick Jacoby to the curb.
I'm thinking that Alshon Jeffery would be cool.
