it's not about title ix, it's about unfair advantage. you will not only have to pay every d1 player, you'll have to pay every d2 and d3 player, down to the last one, the exact same amount. the ncaa can't have a rule that allows the ut's, bama's and nd's of the world to have an unfair advantage over the new mexico state's and st. ed's.
The problem is that colleges have become farm teams for the NFL. It's a win-win for both. Colleges get players for at least two years and the NFL doesn't have to deal with 18 year old kids. If you want to make it fair, handle it like college baseball.
Not totally true. D-3 doesn't even offer athletic scholarships so there is one unfair advantage already.
and no one but football and basketball players get full scholarships. apples and oranges.
