So like the rest of ISU's season with the near misses with calls that went against it or weren't made in its favor.
I thought Craft barely got there in time, but the shot was released before contact. That was the kind of play on which there was a no call in the second KU-ISU game. The illegal screen should have been called before Craft's layup, giving it back to ISU.
Then tOSU didn't take advantage of the 2 for 1 situation, but ran clock and put up a so-so shot, with ISU and tOSU reaching for the board and the tip out of bounds going tOSU's way.
Then the bad d on Craft to let him shoot with no time left. That was weird
Part luck, part refs choosing when to blow the whistle, part dumb play. ISU's season in a nutshell. I'm sorry to see them lose that game. I really like Hoiberg, McGee, and Niang. It will be interesting to see what Hoiberg can do with a team that is nearly devoid of transfers next year.
Edit: But see below about the rule governing the protected area. Craft should have been ruled to have been in the protected area even though the heel of his foot was off the ground over but not touching the arc.

tune into this Temple-Indiana game. Wyatt for Temple is a baller.
Key injury for Indiana in the first half. Not good.
National Director of Scouting & Recruiting Analyst
51 for a game and a half of tournament play.
Nobody besides Wyatt can make a basket. If Randall (currently 0-9) can get something going, Temple has a real chance.
Randall is 0-11 now. Just terrible
That was a pretty horrible call against ISU, worse than the 5 second call against Texas in 2011.
The only team that looks like it wants to win it is Louisville.
I think we lose another #1 here, with IU nearly being taken out earlier today.
Big 12 possibly w/out a sweet 16 team.
Apparently, if the foot is above protected area, even if not planted, the defender is in the protected area, and the play cannot be called a charge.
I didn't know that. ISU was totally screwed, then.
To me, that was the culmination of all calls going Craft's way for three seasons thus far at OSU. The kid hand checks, reaches, and slaps but the refs never call him for it.
Typical start of a second half for KU playing at or near home. It's almost eerie how often KU goes on a tear to start the second half.
That was Barkley's point. I didn't know it either; though in my opinion it didn't matter. Craft didn't give the ISU player a step , which is my interpretation of a charge/block. The NCAA needs to revisit how they make this call. There were two questionable charge calls in the Indiana game as well. In college game; the refs are much too willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the defender. Its not a surprise that they did in this game.
UNC simply couldn't shoot. 22-73. That's pathetic.
Don't look now. Crazy.
I think you mean "look now"
anyone seen this Marshall Henderson clown for Ole Miss? Guy just jacks up threes, thinks he's tough, and acts like his shit don't stink.
Back to Kansas. Whithey has so much effect on the game. Five blocks and had to alter another 15 plus.
Florida Gulf Coast has a lot of talent and very fun to watch. Neither Miami nor Georgetown was a fluke. He's gonna be another hot coach.
Florida better not look at the seed, or they are going to get drilled as well.
Comer is one of the Top 5 PGs in this tournament
Amazing court vision. They said he played with Austin Rivers in high school. That's a helluva high school back court.
A team with a coach who teaches his players to play within a structure; but still allows them to be themselves and to play loose. He doesn't coach the game out of his players and ends up with team looking over their shoulders at the bench.
First #15 seed ever to the second week-end. Hope they keep the run going.
Henderson 4-15 from three point range, but still keeps jacking up shots. Only a 35% shooter on the season from that distance, I'm surprised he has the green light. Or maybe he doesn't, and his coach just can't control him.
Ladarius White shot .355 on the season, making Henderson's .354 almost the best on the team, with Henderson drawing all the defense's attention by taking nearly 11 three pointers per game.
I think it's a green light thing.
