They have some serious athletes on the squad who are coached to be fearless. Not our M.O., especially the "be fearless" part. Barnes is going the life out of the team at this point.
FGCU is going to the 2nd weekend. San Diego State or Oklahoma aren't going to stop them.
there's only so much a coach can bring out. Texas needs some players with inherent toughness and swag. Croaker looks like he's one of those types.
M'Baye with the alley-oop dunk for the Sooners and he avoids the Horns down.
“Kansas may wind up number one in these polls, but that would be so unfair to Texas...” -- Len Elmore, 2/13/11
What is the Aztec hand sign? Any idea, anyone?
I think they're a one-trick pony, but they're pretty good at the one trick.
Couldn't believe the coach at halftime, saying they were playing Georgetown's game... I don't know what game he was watching... they were running and G'town was not catching them.
They are a veteran team with an elite PG, a couple of floor spacing guards, and 2 athletic forwards that can play pick and roll.
They were playing Georgetown's game in the 1st half when the score was 24-22. They played their game in the 2nd half and forced Georgetown out of their preferred tempo.
Notre Dame is redefining fugly in uniforms. I thought the neon lemon-lime was bad, but this white with squiggles and the knee high mint pepto socks is just sickening.

It's not just Texas who can't score the basketball in the FEC.
Lets go Hilltoppers!!
ISU plays Saber-basketball. 3's, paint, FTs, over play the passing lanes to get steals and extra possessions. The best part of Saber-basketball it's easy to run an offense. It's pick and roll, drive and kick to the corner, or fast break layups.
It's a style that Texas could be effective at if they tried.
I like the idea of steals and extra possession, hence the comment on a thread before the OU game asking why Texas didn't adopt that strategy more often when it had inferior shooters, but I don't know about the desirability of a high volume of 3 point jacks with this roster. Maybe if Lewis and McClellan were to do something other than twist and fall to the side when they shoot, and maybe if Holland wouldn't shoot at all, but for all the talk from some about McClellan being the best shooter on the team, well, he pretty much just sucked at it this year, didn't he?
Lewis shot 35% on 3's so I think he would adjust to shooting more of them. I would rather he put up 6-9 3's a game than his usual mid-range jumpers.
Sheldon would probably never see the court for me in this style unless he understood that spot up 3's and attacking the paint would be the only acceptable shots he could take.
If Texas gets Harris I would tell Holland to transfer.
I think Self is only a 1-16 upset away from the cycle.
I thought Lewis was a pretty good spot up shooter when he would just catch and square and shoot. He just puts too much everything into his motion when he tries to shoot off the dribble.
Niang just ran off 7 points in a minute with 3 layups and a free throw. ISU up 51-33.
We can dream.
Osby is a freaking beast, Heild is going to be a stud, the rest suck.
I picked you guys. They better get going.
Think of it this way, by losing tonight you will not get embarrassed on Sunday against FGCU.

FGCU is likely going to come back to earth on Sunday. Fisher's crew won't underestimate them and will sag off the point to clog the lanes.
KU WKU about to get reeeeeeel interesting.
The score was 24-22 because FGC couldn't hit the rim from arm's length.
They were playing their game, they just didn't have a margin. They went up and down a half-dozen times midway in the half and Georgetown couldn't deal with it. That's when I knew Gtown was in trouble.
Big East had a tough start to the tourney. The top two cruised, but that was about it. Marquette was lucky to survive.

Michigan is crushing VCU 38-23 at the half. McGary has been a monster on the boards (9, while the entire VCU team has only 13). VCU unable to hit from outside (1-8 bta) and not forcing nearly enough turnovers (6) to overcome Michigan's advantage inside.
