Another piece talking about his good week of work in Mobile.
Texas wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is making a big impression on 2013 Senior Bowl observers at Wednesdays practice. How much will his NFL Draft stock climb?
Another mention of Goodwin's rising stock:
A pair of talented receivers on the North squad are shining bright among the clouds in Mobile
My reaction to all this about Marquise is two-fold:
What a great young man. I would love to have seen his numbers with Major calling plays all year long. He has speed, great hands, is tough, intelligent and a great team player. The size is the only issue but look at Wes Welker. Little guys can do it too,
Marquise is a "UU" All-American: under-utilized.
RIP orangehorn Eddie Knight: 8/5/1942 - 12/12/2010
Sure did do some good down field blocking for such a little feller.
Goodwin can be Steve Smith(Panthers) with more speed. I would think that is his ceiling and a damn good one.
Marquise would have had a different career at Texas if he had concentrated solely on football.
Having said that, I would have done it the same way he did if I had Olympic talent.
IMO, until this year he didn't have a QB that could chuck the ball far enough for him.
He and Oak have really helped themselves this week. I don't think late 2nd-early 3rd is completely out of the question and Marquise and it sounds like Okafor is cemmenting himself in the 1st.
Really Kenny was playing. I could easily see him playing himself into the top 10.
If NFL teams are concerned about his size they obviously weren't watching T.Y. Hilton lighting up defenses this year as a rookie.
Something like 4.2 speed, can catch and blocks like a devil. He is going to be a steal if he goes very low.
Statistically his best year was 2011 with career highs in receptions (33), yards receiving (420), rushes (22) and yards rushing (220).
Kind of like the Tasmanian Devil cartoon character in a football uniform. We need to get us some more of those! Anybody working on teaching Daje about no prisoners taken blocking?
