"Don't know. Never had one"
-- D. Royal-Mack Brown how to coach a team after a losing season
In 2005, Texas played Ohio State in the shoe, OU, and USC in essentially a home game. Texas won the national title. Texas more or less publicly removed the soul of the CU program, angrily shanked a top 10 Texas Tech program, and sent OU home crying in their sisterwives' laps over the brutal shame inflicted upon the team at the hands of VY and the boys.
In 2010, Texas played OU, OSU, and a cast of imbeciles who couldn't beat eggs. Texas was repeatedly abused in a public and excruciating fashion in which the entire college football landscape laughed and pointed as teams like KSU, Baylor, and Iowa State mercilessly raped the pride of the program.
The schedule doesn't make a shit. Recruit fast, violent young man who play angry, let young coaches put them in position to win games, and stop bemoaning the shit that makes the sport great. Beat OU. Get on with it.
I'm going to start saying "Mack sauce" instead of "weak sauce."
Let the downvotes commence, petty Mack lovers. Let's see if y'all can get me down to 3 stars. I know you're trying your damnedest.
Mack subscribes to the Ol' Ball Coaches' theory of scheduling... make the schedule up yourself!
Floating preemptive excuses isn't a good sign.
There might be something to that. Especially down the road if it is a eight or nine game win season. A little early 'leveraging.'
Mack's only compliant was that it was his third choice and includes a night December game in Kansas and OSU WVU before OU.
He certainly wasn't complaining about the teams on the schedule or schedule difficulty. He didn't really complain about the schedule, but rather stated he had two other preferences.
This applies to coaches as well as players.
SHUT UP AND PLAY!
whether it's an easy schedule or a tough schedule, history has shown that Mack probably won't win the conference either way.
we get through that stretch and we jump in the polls. Just need to finish it off to the end. no conf game so it really goes to BCS.
If we lose a few, probably expected but hope it is close to set up 2013
The sweet side of DKR
Is there anything else to do? Hopefully that's why the players and coaches come to Texas.
