Dumb writer needs to do some homework, it would 3.25 million to fire Mack in 2012 and 2.75 million in 2013 not 25 million
The offense in Austin is a train wreck, yet their defense somehow manages to be more disappointing
That wasn't very persuasive. Basically, "don't fire him because he's a nice guy."
Congrats Jen Engel, you're a friend of the program.
I was unaware Bob Stoops wrote for Fox Sports.
Jen Engel? The DFW "Little Ball of Hate" that was so terrible on the radio they replaced her quickly with the also terrible Michael Irvin Show?
Dave, come on man. She's not clued in at all.
Jen Engel is a journalistic hooker. Please.
Missouri grad with an axe to grind.
LONGHORNS: The Horns conclude Big XII conference play tomorrow in Manhattan, KS, versus Kansas State. Skies will be clearing out by the 7 pm kickoff with a temperature near 50. Temps drop into chilly mid 40s during the second half. West-southwest winds should end up less than 10 mph
"Don't know. Never had one"
-- D. Royal-Mack Brown how to coach a team after a losing season
And the athletic department deserves to have Coach Brown refund about $12 million of salary he was paid over the last three years, given the quality of product he produced, but that isn't happening, is it?
What a moronic article. After Ms. Engel asserts there are questions about the football program, she says there are no questions about Brown and offers the following syllogism:
Brown is not a great tactician; he is a CEO type.
The product has been poor for the last three years.
Being good at one's job is not the same thing as being a good person.
Brown is a good person.
Therefore, Brown should have another season.
I particularly like the bit about how a good doctor might not be a good mom. Well, gee, Ms. Engel, which would you rather have operating on your spleen? A good doctor or a good mom?

Engel and her article are a complete JOKE!! Why not just give Mack all the time he wants to go out on top? Of course that will take us finding another Vince Young to win the National Championship. Let's see, how long did that take...35 YEARS?? Gee, I guess if I was making $5,000,000 a year I could come up with a 3 or 4 year plan too....it's called
"retirement security". Those 2 conference titles and 1 national championship in 15 years have come at a VERY high price.....oh well, what's another $5,000,000 here or there......reminds me of Washington!
"Three things can happen when you throw the ball and two of 'em are bad."........Darrell Royal
Wait for it
I am sick and freaking tired of hearing the idiotic term "deserves" when it pertains to a man who has been a coach of the program for 15 years, has made over $50million in the process, has had the opportunity to turn around his own shitpile mess, and who is 6-9 against the school's only rival.
The man "deserves" to be held accountable for where he's taken the program. That's it. He "deserves" nothing else being handed to him, including the benefit of the doubt.
This is the best I can do. And it was difficult finding this.
Must be an Oklahoma writer, and more importantly a Sooner fan.
John Elway with long hair?...interesting ...
Mack should take a lesson from Ellis:
"Well all the time ya spend trying to get back what's been took from ya, more is going out the door. After a while you just have to try to get a tourniquet on it."
CTJ, I'm going to need you as an emotional leader over the next month. Thank you for this.
Keep the fire burning!
sorry but I dont have the patience to wait until another once in a lifetime QB signs with Texas.
No you don't.
