Any way Texas can jump on him since he seems to have been left out in the cold by Sumlin? The top ranked TE at a time when we desperately need a TE...and have a few extra spots in this class. Can Texas at least fax an LOI to his school first thing in the morning to see if he has any interest???
At the moment, the future appears unclear for ESPN 150 tight end Derrick Griffin. The 6-foot-6, 228-pound prospect from Rosenberg (Texas) Terry will not be signing with Texas A&M on Wednesday, his coach at Terry, Tim Teykl, told ESPN.com on Tuesday.
He isn't going to qualify. That's why he isn't signing with aggy.
can't they offer him a Kinner deal??? Get a certain ACT score to qualify...
Not going to happen. No point in going down this road.
My initial guess is that between this and J.J. Gustafson opting to gray shirt that A&M is getting Daeshon Hall and Torrodney Prevot tomorrow.
wow Daeshon Hall too? So no way of us picking up the leftovers??? (as sad as that sounds)
Why was he rated so high since everyone and their brother knew he was not going to qualify?
Not getting back on Daeshon is one of the most mind-boggling decisions I've ever seen. Up there with completely ignoring Mike Mitchell.

He probably was rated lower than he should have been because they knew he wouldn't qualify. But, since you can't completely ignore a kid with his talent they ranked him where they did.
I know I've been busy working but Hall and Prevot both flipping from their Pac-12 schools and switching to A&M is news to me.
IIRC we tried but were told more or less to F' off.

Yes, Texas A&M has a very good chance to get both. If not already a done deal behind the scenes.
I wouldn't assume that Texas had the choice to get back in here. Lancaster coach not helpful to Texas.
What's up with the Lancaster coach? I've read other comments about him and Texas. Just curious.
