We spoke with River Ridge (La.) John Curtis DB Mattrell McGraw and he said he is lining up a visit to Texas for the month of May.
Texas has told McGraw that they will offer him once he steps on campus.
Not real hard to see why the Horns like him so much.
McGraw declined to mention a top five, but said the Horns are certainly among the handful of schools he is considering otherwise he wouldn't be making the unofficial visit.
He has offers from 10+ schools around the country.

Are Roberts and Garnet still visiting on the 12th?
Mattrell Mcgraw is a Sophomore Safety who attends Nationally Ranked John Curtis Christian School. He wears #2, and He ft and 175 lbs. He also clocked a...
This is the Safety I want more than any other, including Adams. I hope that if we only have room for 5 DBs in this class that this guy is among them. Massive upside.
I really like this kid. He has a good burst out of his backpedal and he's closes very quickly. I'm also impressed with his special teams work. Id take him over Adams at this point as well but I haven't seen enough film from Jamal to really back that up right now.
Roberts is expected on the 12th. A commitment at that time is not out of the question. Not sure if Garnett is expected back so soon.
I love this kid's game a lot. It's crazy how many quality DB's we're in on. It will be fascinating to see who we actually end up with.

Entertain me. Why is my opinion garnering this reaction from you?
Because Jamal is seriously underappreciated at this place, and I for the life of me can't understand. There's nothing the kid doesn't do well. He might not look as good as the Tony Brown's off the world with his shirt off, nor does he cover 100 yards on a track as quickly, but he's a much, much better football player.
The McGraw kid looks like a fine player, but Jamal is among the nation's elite DBs.
I think we have room for 5, this class has way too many talented DBs to not take that many.
And possibly this guy
I like Jamal over Brown and I've said it plenty of times. Brown has great track speed but I don't think of him as highly as most do.
If UT were fortunate enough to land this group of dbs (as suggested in another reply), DA might need a nitro and a pull on the team's oxygen tank.
1. Darrion Johnson
2. Jamal Adams
3. Jermaine Roberts
4. John Bonney
5. Nick Watkins
And, while we're livin' large, let's say Tony Brown doesn't follow his sister to...................., and commits, too. If so, I think Mack does a back flip and takes all 6. I actually think this is more likely than #3.
Not gonna happen, but yeah if Tony Brown wants to come here, I don't care if we don't have room. Make room.
The kid could already play on our kickoff coverage team. He's not afraid to hit, which is hard to teach. He needs to bring his feet with him, which can be taught. I'd take him.
I'm with pepper on this one. I've seen nearly every big name DB in the state and I think Jamal Adams is the most well polished/rounded one there is.
IMO he's the top defensive back for 2014 in Texas. He's a big time playmaker no matter who he's facing.
And I've seen Paris, Brown, Watkins, etc.

it's the intrigue and excitement of a new name. We've heard/read about Jamal for so long now, and when a new player pops up, especially one from OOS (rare for Texas), the fans tend to hop on board. In this case, it seems justified, because McGraw looks like a really good player from a really good football program.
