With the Lack of todays Tackling I wonder if we go back to Old School techniques if it would help. Or are we on a new era and yesterday's tackling techniques are a by gone. Anyhow it was good seeing this Video and the Great Darrell Royal .

This is the way to do it. TEAM defense and fundamentals.
Too many young kids want to go for the flying ESPN highlight hit. They dont keep their head up. They dont even attempt to wrap up. They want to launch into the guy and make him ricochet. Looks great when it works, but you miss way too often.
It is more important to do it right and end up getting more time on ESPN because you are playing for championships.
And, whether the kids pay attention or not you can get some darn good hits doing it the right way too.
I began each season—the first day of practice—with the same demonstration and instruction: showing players precisely how I wanted them to put on their socks; after that, how to lace and double-tie their shoelaces. “Little things make big things happen,” I cautioned them.

Part 1B of Darrell Royal's tackling Fundamentals
I watched that after DKR passed away. When I went to the Iowa State game I observed closely our D. Watching their fundamentals, they could have learned a few things from this film.
