And is he saying this or is he saying those around him are saying this?
I'm not really challenging you here, because I have no way to do so. I'm just interested in hearing how widespread your source says the criticism of the UT coaching staff might run.
My brother-in-law is a podiatrist in New Jersey!
Whooo hooo! This is such good insider information ... and your brother-in-law is ........... ???? And we should give any credence to this because ........... ??????

And yet, they snapped up Cory Joseph.
And yet... you failed to get Shamus' point. Not surprised.
just curious, where does he think the best place to develop is?
He didn't make 4 jump shots in his 2 year career!

RC Buford let his son (adopted) play for Rick.
He drafted Cory Joseph.
I doubt he shares this viewpoint.
He is 50 percent off the Spurs front office.
Kabongo will be a better overall pro than a college player as he will be surrounded by players that can actually make a shot.
Kabongo won't have to shoot the ball early in his NBA career. All he has to do is lead the break and dish to the scorers. He'll be very good at doing that.
Kabongo will need time to develop for sure, but the talent and the tools are there for sure. The one thing he HAS NOT shown is a dribble drive pull up jumper from 8-12 feet out. THAT is one thing that he has to be able to do eventually.
I'm not going to place my BIL's name in an Internet forum as that would be epically retarded, but to your points:
1) I have no idea what RC thinks about Rick these days. He hasn't said as far as I know, what I was told is there's a belief among many NBA scouts and front office people that Texas isn't looked at as a place players really develop their game. As far as if RC feels that way... I don't know, but there were rumblings he wasn't too happy with Wangmene's lack of development on the offensive end during his Texas tenure.
2) CJ was drafted based on potential, not how they perceived Barnes developed or didn't develop him. If anything, they saw a lot of potential that he didn't develop at UT and felt he had a lot of room to grow as a player.
3) The Spurs have a ton of front office personnel, everything from scouts to the people that book hotels and travel. The NBA as a whole has a ton of scouts for each team, and they talk among each other frequently. A lot of what has been said is Texas isn't a place players develop.
as far as number two goes, Joseph was there for one freaking season.
Yep, the bashing of Barnes is irrational right now.
It would normally be good if Kabongo comes back, but someone that doesn't care enough to play hard every game belongs in the NBA on a second tier team. He just disappeared a few of the games he did play.
It would be nice if Kabongo came back and truly asserted himself as a leader of this team but I think the kid is to eager to make a buck right. Ow to stick around and make a real name for himself here. I am moving on until proven otherwise.
I don't think his disappearing had anything to do with effort. He's enormously quick and talented, but he's just not that mature/consistent a player right now.
Disciplina praesidium civitatis
You could be right, but I had the misfortune of attending the OSU game in Stillwater with some of my Oklahoma friends and if there was any hustle on his part it was well hidden. We did have some players out there giving high effort that could have used some help. If he happens to do the unlikely thing and come back that would be great. Since he is projecting somewhere in the first or high second round, that isn't going to happen often.

Back to the original idea in the thread, which is estimations of Kabongo's draft position.

Averaged, he is projected to be at the bottom of the first round. Basically removes any suspense about question of whether or not he returns.
Here is my feelings on this and my brother works for Ford. That is why I got a good deal on my Mustang. Myck is leaving even if draft projections show he will not get drafted at all. He has already decided that is what he wants to do. He figures he can learn on the job even if it's not the NBA while getting paid
