Texas' best shot to land an elite hoops recruit in 2014.
In an anticipated match up the Houston Hoops took down Texas Pro in the third session of the Nike EYBL. The rebounding and overall play of Kelly Oubre was key in the victory.
What is it with these guys and their hair? Here is Tony Brown from the 247 front page. I guess when you are a great athlete, you can get away with it. The only thing interesting I ever did with my hair was a friend and I paper clipped mistletoe to spit curls we fashioned on our foreheads in the seventh grade ... the only action we got from that was we got chased out of the school cafeteria by a couple of lunch ladies ... come to think of it, that was pretty traumatizing. ;)

After the McClellan debacle, I doubt Texas has much of a chance.
Plus, we just signed 400 new recruits at the wing position.
Where would Barnes' team finish in intramurals?
Again you are very good at being negative but you still haven't said your plan for putting Texas back in the hunt. What do you think has to be done?
If Texas is going to have any chance of landing these players it needs to have a good year or one that ends with Barnes being fired, and bringing in someone who reenergizes the program.
+1 for this.
Barnes being fired at the end of the 2013-14 season will not result in highly regarded 2014 players committing to Texas, unless the new coach manages to bring a player from his old school.
Name one big name school that got a big name recruit immediately after hiring a new coach at the end of the season. Other than Cousins and Bledsoe following the slimy one to Kentucky and Nick Williams following Crean to Indiana, I can't think of any off the top of my head.

This will be a lost season, in terms of recruiting.
“Kansas may wind up number one in these polls, but that would be so unfair to Texas...” -- Len Elmore, 2/13/11
I can't either Bierce I am just saying that I have seen it happen. I am not saying it will happen. If you fire a coach and hope to still land some top of the line recruits you need a name coach or more to the point a young one.
