Dez Bryant'esque result.
Exactly in re: to DezB.
What a dump. The NCAA can take a f-ing hike. Blatant cheaters are allowed to walk the sidelines of fields and courts all over the country and they go after Kabongo.
I'm young enough where I'm hopeful for an eventual break away from the NCAA.
9 and 4 at Texas sucks!
- Jeff Howe
damn if true. sucks to run it across the bottom when showing him on the screen too.
Cam Newton got paid to go to Auburn with no penalty. Kabongo had a childhood friend pay for a plane ride and is gone for the season.
When does some school finally take them to court and end the NCAA for good?

Well that sucks.
When you cheat and lie you get the hammer
Definite case of over-prosecution for covering up a harmless trip. That said, he screwed himself AND his team. Too bad for both. Appears to be the final nail in the coffin for the NCAA tournament for he year
Apparently, as usual in America, it's about the coverup, not the crime.
The ncaa needs to get their shit straight! cam newton got $200, 000, a heisman, and a NC and Kabongo gets screwed. Thats some BS. Ncaa needs to re open the newton scandal and go check out miami and oregon. There r much bigger fish to fry than a damn plane ride...
This same situation happens somewhere else and no one here says a thing. Tell me you were always comfortable with the Grassroots Canada pipeline and I have some property in Arizona to sell you.
I feel bad for Myck. Good kid, loves to play, but one stupid mistake is going to cost his season. Bummer.
If the agent was there, and that's the issue the agent should be deceritifed immediately.
I don't think this issue is over though, as I think Texas will and should sue the NCAA over it. It worked for UCLA.
It's going to cost him a lot more than the season. Without the opportunity to demonstrate improvement he's not going to be a lottery pick. This situation is going to cost him millions of dollars and maybe even a guaranteed contract.
Why he can come back next year on what will be a loaded Texas team, and lead them on a deep NCAA tournament run?
He never wanted to be at Texas for more than one year. I'd love to be wrong but I'll be shocked if he ever plays in a Texas uniform again.
Posted this in the game thread but you could pay Jazzy Hartwell a billion dollars at your elite camps to get a 100 players.
You could give Ed Manning and Ronnie Chalmers jobs to get NC's like KU has.
You can play a hundred games against shady DC Assault AAU exhibition teams to funnel money like UCONN has.
None of those get punished.
Oregon, Auburn, Bomar being sacrificed for AP...
The list goes on and on with no punishment.
Basically what this tells you is don't freaking say a damn WORD to the NCAA ever.
That is the only thing they care about.
Colonel Jessup style truth or else you are dead.

I think the trip by itself would have warranted a 5-7 game suspension. He got the season for lying to the investigators. Dez got the same treatment--he didn't even break any rules, but simply lied to the NCAA and was done for a year.
The true test of a man's intelligence is how much he agrees with you.
If Texas doesn't appeal...I'll be pissed!...but not shocked
If he comes back he can still be a lottery pick. Most mocks right now have him around #20 without him playing a game this year. Another year to mature, improve his game and he could very easily go in the lottery in a year and a half. It might be a season later than what he wanted but if he wants the lottery it's still attainable. But this all depends on whether he decides to come back next year.
At least Dez got to play some games that year.
At some point you have to move on with what you have. These kids deserve to have it put behind them.
