Urban's no dummy.
Signatures are stupid. You should block them.
Per a source at DeSoto, Texas was not by today - for those wondering.
Kid still wants to go far from home.
National Director of Scouting & Recruiting Analyst
A rivals national reporter is saying that Major plans to meet with Wilson this week.
It doesn't take a lot of effort to make 3 hrs seem like 14. It's all in your motivation.
I just don't care if he comes here or not. We have plenty of BAMF rb's, so he's not a need. We also have Catalon and Gresham coming in, and I highly doubt Catalon redshirts. Pretty sure Wilson would RS anyway
Between MB1, Gray, Daje, and Berg we'll be fine. I have no doubt Major will utilize them correctly.
"I don't hate you, I'm just not necessarily excited about your existence."
Agreed. Rather get a QB or WR
I should also note that I would much rather have the Kinner kid. Something about him intrigues me, and I have a feeling he will be a home run...if he can get his grades in order.
I don't really see the need for another wr in this class, personally. We have Ship, Sanders, Johnson, Jones, and Daje could split out wide. Definitely need another qb who can legitimately fight for the starting job.
How good is Daje' at catching the deep ball? He's fast enough, but how are the hands on deep stuff? I think we still need a burner who can catch.
While I think Oliver and Warrick are solid players, I just would like to have a home run threat in this class. I don't see any impact offensive skill guys. Jmo
But it's kind of late to try to get in with most players.
Wilson has the speed Texas wants. That's the bottom line.
Can't ever have too many playmakers
I forgot about both those guys, so even then we still have a plethora of talented wr's. I get what you're saying, though.
For sure. I get why they are going after him, it's just I think it's wasted effort. We all know he's not coming here, but I can understand why they won't give up.
He seemed decent when they got him the ball. I don't know how he is with the deep ball, but he certainly has the speed.
Not sweating it either. If we get that kid from Louisiana next year, it would just be a spot on the roster.
Are you talking about Fournette? Not happening. I would burn a village of children to make that happen, though.
My wild guess is that Major is trying to put a true speed guy at Slot WR, even if the player is more of an RB than a WR. I'm thinking that Daje and a guy like Dontre Wilson will take on the Marquis Goodwin-type role that we saw in the Alamo Bowl. He may line up at Slot (or even outside WR), and the idea is to get him a couple of touches on reverses, and a couple of touches via short passes in open spaces against LBs or Safeties.
Net-net: take a guy (Daje or Dontre) with game changing speed and open field skills and get him the ball any way that you can irrespective of where they have to line-up in a formation. Since I don't see Major taking Gray or Brown off the field for many plays (if any), than I expect Daje and Kinner / Dontre Wilson to have to line-up elsewhere (Slot) to get the ball in their hands.
By contrast, I see Kendall Sanders as a pure stretch the field vertically guy from an outside WR position. So, I expect him to be more of a package-specfic guy next season, until Mike Davis graduates and then Sanderds becomes a full-time outside WR.
Who has better speed, Kendall Sanders or Marcus Johnson?
That attitude is part the reason for lack talent in serveral classes
I got downvoted for this? Hahahahahahahahahaha
From my connections its a long shot
But for people to say we do not need him, look no further at the Alamo Bowl and who changed that game. We lack speed at WR with the departure of Goodwin
I would think Wilson will have to pay some attention to the incoming line personnel.
bobby - did meyers actually speak to wilson at school or the coach - thought the recruiting school could not speak to the recruit directly unless an official visit
