I don't understand as rational Longhorn fans how we can somehow bad mouth the year Florida had last year. They were in every game they played last year except for Lousville which was a let down game for them (still they laid an egg). Any Longhorn fan would gladly of taken 11-2 last year or even this year. The SEC is the power conference and has been for a long time. Yes some of their games are offensively challenged but would you rather win 14-10 or 51-48 beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In baseball some purists love a 2-1 game and others prefer a 8-6 slugfest.
We would all trade Mack Brown for Muschamp in a New York second today that is obvious. Florida played a tough schedule last year and it looks like Muschamp has them turned around.
If I was a high school senior even though I love Texas the SEC is hard to turn down. They play big games and as the NFL draft shows they put a lot of guys in the NFL. Not to say that Texas does not especially in the secondary. I hate A&M with a passion but they caught lightning in a bottle with Manziel and an offensive line that the Dallas Cowboys would have swapped for. This year I think will be a little tougher for them but the Aggies have all the momentum right now.
It is fairly simple as a Longhorn fan would you rather be in the SEC or Big 12 right now? I went to the Ole Miss game and had the best time. The culture there is different because they live and breath football 24/7. The Big 12 is down right now as well. OU and Texas are nowhere near the teams of 5-10 years ago when they could go toe to toe with anyone. That is a fact. It is cyclical and OU and Texas will return to the top 10 and the aggies by next year when Manziel leaves will be back to 8-4 or 7-5. At least I hope so lol
NLeininger, using the test you put to Florida, wasn't Texas about 2 minutes from 6-6?
