I watched Randle score 40 pts, grab at least 15 boards & block around 5 shots last night. He did the overwhelming majority of his scoring from the perimeter facing up. He knocked down about 3 or 4 from bta last night & made multiple shots pulling up from the mid-range. I hate to make this comparison but he looked a lot like Lebron last night in how comfortable & smooth his game was off the bounce while still having that power & ferocity when he puts his head down & goes to the paint.
Needless to say, whoever gets him is getting a special, special player.
This type of talent & performance is why I'm hoping the Kentucky rumors are just that...Randle's gonna be the man where ever he ends up, but may not get the exposure or shots with the twins & other FR @ Kentucky
Posted before & I believe it even more now...Randle makes any team a FF contender
Was this Randle's 1st game back from injury?

Did he throw the Horns up or down after dunking?
"Leadership is wisdom, courage and great carelessness of self"
This was his 2nd or 3rd game back.
No, it was his 4th game back. He scored 19pts in his first game back, had 35 pts & 13 rebs in his 2nd game & 9pts in his 3rd game as the other team vowed to stop him & his teammates destroyed the opposition. Last night his stats were 40 pts, 16 rebs & 4 blocks. His team won 55-48 with bill Self on-hand.
I would love to see what Barnes could do with him.
Kentucky reports are partially true. Kentucky is well in front. However if he wants to stand out then Kansas or NC State are the choices. If he wants to stay close to home and play for a small amount of fans in a quite gym without much help well.......
Jordan91, I really appreciate your hoops enthusiasm but you really can't take everything you hear as gospel.
Julius Randle finishes his career with a 3rd title as Prestonwood won in overtime over FW Nolan 71-66. Randle finished with 34 pts, 20 rebs & 6 stls.

I appreciate what your saying but this is a monster recruit and I am basing this off people that for the what certain people are saying. People who for the most part are correct. I don't want to be right but it is what it is. I hope I miss this one by a mile. Look at where Texas is right now and the one player they have coming in. Myck is gone so go by what you have left. If your this kid why pick this school over the others? Can he win an NC with what is coming back? Again I don't want to be right. Make your case.
Jordan, I do not speak for GQ031, but my take on what he is saying is that you are making what appear to be statements of fact or foregone conclusions, that have no basis in reality because it has not happened yet. Julius Randle may or may not come to Texas, but unless you or I reside inside his head, we do not know what is going to happen. And frankly, even if we did reside there, we might not know. The same goes for Myck. We just will not know until it happens, perhaps not even then. Just look what happened this season with Myck. In fact there is no case to be made until something happens, and then that case is subject to change.

Point taken. This year has really gotten to me. I agree with what those people are saying because I don't see anything positive happening to Texas. Getting Randle and keeping Myck to me won't happen because that is something that would electrify this program and I just thing we will stay in this negative position we are in now. Sorry if its pissing people off.
I know nothing of this, but the highlights of him dribbling coast to coast were crazy. Does he handle the ball that well with a head of steam all the time? Don't think I've ever seen a handle like that for a big guy.
Again, only speaking for myself, you are not pissing me off. ;) On the contrary, I think most people identify with your enthusiasm. I have said this before and I will say it again. Try taking a longer view. You and I will probably have no effect on coaching changes or which recruit will go where. For me, I like to look at each game I get to see and try to see if there is any one player that is showing anything that might indicate anything positive for the future. I find it hard to believe that anyone watching could not have seen a few positives in that great comeback win the other night. I also find it hard to believe that anyone would expect that win to signify a complete turn around like turning on a light bulb. Oklahoma State had a 15-18 record last year and missed the NCAA playoffs. Last time I checked, Marcus Smart still went there. I do not have a crystal ball, but I would not be surprised if we landed Julius Randle AND if Myck Kabongo came back ... oh yeah, let's throw DeMarcus Croaker in there for fun. But, then again, I have no way of knowing just like everybody else. I do know that I will have a little fun finding out. Maybe it is just me, but I have a hard time spending much energy getting upset over things I have no control over. But, I will tell you that I have no problem rejoicing when things do go well. And, sometimes, during the not so great times, I have to look for the little sparklies in the dirt. I mean to show no lack of respect to you as a poster here, and if this comes across as a lecture, I apologise. Hang in there! It will get better. ;)
I am trying to let things happen as their meant to but, if someone asked me what I think will happen it won't be good. Better to be what I hope will happen
Jordan, you just gave yourself your own best advice. Get your thought governor manual out and whenever your brain hears, "What do you think will happen?" Program that thought governor whenever it wants to say, This is what I think is gonna happen.". Except say, "This is what IS gonna happen!", and substitute the most positive outcome. Sooner or later, your brain will hear it that way, and believe it or not, sometimes it will happen that way! When it doesn't happen that other, not so happy way, program your thought governor to say to your brain. "Oh, crapacola! Those reality dudes don't know diddley squat!" I promise, you will feel much better. ;)
There are times when he can try to do too much & turn the ball over but pretty much...yeah.
He's got a different body type but he's morphed from a Zach Randolph player(7-9th grade) to a Chris Webber player(10th & 11th grade) to now like a LeBron type of player(although his body type is different). Its been fun to watch.
Highlights of game:
mother of God. Dudes at his size aren't supposed to be able to do that kind of stuff.
Huh! So, what you're saying is he is pretty good, huh? I wonder if he has a younger, bigger brother? ;)
Mixed bag sort if on Randle predictions, but seems like KU is what people "think".
The high school basketball season is drawing to a close, and three of the best seniors in the country still havent made a college decision.
A national championship is ill-material here. Going to KU or UK doesn't give Randle any better of a shot a title than coming to Texas does next year.
The thing Barnes needs to be selling is that he is much better at preparing his guys to star right away in the NBA than either Self or Calipari.
Please name the last player either of those coaches have sent into the NBA that's actually done something of note.
Randle is a one and one, so if he wants to maximize that year in getting prepared for the NBA then Texas should be his destination.
Oh yeah, he will probably win close to 30 games with Texas next year as well.
Of course, I am sure he has had the opportunity to have heart to heart conversations with Kevin Durant, La Marcus Aldridge, and TJ Ford about how Coach Barnes and his staff can help him prepare for the NBA. We know that he likes Texas and the Texas players. Let's just hope that he chooses the good guys. We sure would be better next year with him.
This message is brought to you late at night by by Mr. Obvious. ;)
Derrick Rose, Eric Beldsoe, John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Marcus Camby, Brandon Knight, Tyreke Evans, MKG and Anthony Davis. I'd say that's a pretty solid list. All are starters or would be if Chris Paul weren't on his team (Bledsoe). It's as good as Barnes or certainly can be because most of the players are young. Plus he'll have two more be lottery/ first round picks this year in Noel and Poythress.
Barnes has Durant, Aldrige, Bradley, Thompson, and Ford (before injury) are really the only ones who are or were legitimate contributers. Augustine hasn't done crap except maybe be the worst starting pg in the NBA a year ago when he started for one of the worst teams in history. Damion James hasn't done shit. Jordan Hamilton is buried on a deep Denver bench, Daniel Gibson is a three point specialist, and a declining one at that. Royal Ivey, while I like him is an end of the bench guy. Dexter Pittman is horrible.
Derrick Rose could be TJ Ford. The rest of that list hasn't done jack shit in the NBA, other than Camby. Plus you forgot to mention Bradley and Joseph(now starting in place of an injured Parker).
Make it stahp
