Here's the release from UT:
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas sophomore forward Jaylen Bond has elected to transfer following the completion of the spring semester, he confirmed Monday. Bond will not participate in UT’s games in the upcoming College Basketball Invitational presented by Buick.
“While this was a difficult decision to make, I feel it is the right one for me at this time,” Bond said. “I want to thank everyone who played a part in allowing me the privilege to attend The University of Texas. This starts with the coaching staff, my fellow teammates and the educational staff who have helped me during the past two years. They have taught me a lot, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to have been part of this program.
“It wouldn’t be right for me to continue playing in the postseason and take minutes away from my teammates who are returning,” Bond continued. “Once again, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me while I was here.”
Bond saw action in 20 of UT’s 33 games (two starts) and averaged 2.8 points and 3.2 assists in 11.1 minutes per contest this season. In his two seasons in Austin, Bond played in 54 career games (seven starts) and averaged 3.1 points and 4.1 rebounds in 13.8 minutes per contest.
Good luck to the kid. He plays hard, but he is a power forward in a small forward body who simply has no shooting touch. This was predictable.
Wish him luck wherever he ends up.
Good luck Jaylen.
His knack for rebounding will make him a valuable asset to a low major D-1 team.
Why is he transferring? Was it his decision?
I would say this move was encouraged to make room....but for who??!!
Sterling Gibbs and Boyd are both gone now...that worked out well. Any decent developmental bigs still out there?
Hate to see him go. In spite of the fact that some have said that he was a Barnes' favorite, I was surprised that he did not go at the end of last year when Stirling Gibbs left.
+1......Jaylen also had the best GPA on the team last semester. I love the hustle.
"Leadership is wisdom, courage and great carelessness of self"
I think you mean, "... but for whom??!!", unless you are an owl. And, it is a damn good question.
Postscript - Ummmhhh! Some folks don't be likeing them some grammar correction! Even if it is a damn good question! ;)
Yaaay! Another down vote! Let's see if we can set an off season record ... even if it was a good question! ;)
WoW! Somebody upvoted the last downvote! Dayum! That sounds downright incestuous, doesn't it! ... even iffen it was a good question! ;)
Why the Heyell is anybody upvoting or downvoting this post? All you'uns and me'uns need to get a life! ..... Huh! ;) Go Horns! Beat the Hell out of UH! ;)

I've been asking the mods, or anyone else for that matter, several times whether we are still recruiting any other athletic wings in case Randle goes elsewhere. Anyone have any good news?
Despite everyone saying Croaker is coming he has not committed. Could be tied to Randle commitment or mom. And we still don't know if Sheldon will transfer. So you are talking about possibly three or four scholarships out there for spring signing period. Really doesn't sound good.
This site is like a box of chocolates......well, you know the rest!
Don't you know it! I hope you know that I am only having some fun! During the off season ... Oh, Hell! Most of the time, we need a bit of humor! And, I like your analogy ... You never know what you are gonna get! ;)
I do. You never know when you're going to get choicest juicy chunks of fresh Cornish Ram's bladder, emptied, steamed, seasoned with sesame seeds, whipped into a fondue, and garnished with lark's vomit.
Ummmm!!! .... Sounds like you are of Scottish ancestry! Cornish ram's bladder notwithstanding. Of course, I read a book recently about the genetic makeup of the peoples of the Isles, and it turns out that whether you are English, Cornwallish, Welsh, Irish, or Scottish; you are pretty much the same genetically - along with the Celts of Portugal/Spain. Them Angels, Saxons, Scandinavians and Romans only provided a thin veneer of culture and a little bit of genetics at various times over those that were already there, leaving lots of room for genetic proclivities for such things as ram's bladders and such! Who woulda thunk that a basketball thread woulda broke out in a cultural anthropology/genetics discussion! Ain't Hookem great? ;)
I am not so sure about the sesame seeds, though! You got any references?

from Monty Python's Flying Circus
Season 1 - Episode 06
The BBC Entry To The Zinc Stoat Of Budapest
Recorded 05-11-69, Aired 23-11-69
I'm slowly uploading the entire Flying Circus series... Got any requests?
It makes me so depressed watching this program fall apart. I feel like the football team has the legacy to rebuild into a contender in a hurry, whereas the basketball team took years to build up some reputation and expectations and now it can all be washed away rather quickly. I personally don't understand why so many people are content on sitting around waiting another year for more of the same from the basketball team.
In spite of all his problems, I seriously doubt that Sheldon transfers. Although he is still on a short leash, he and Barnes seem to be working things out. There's plenty of playing time available for him if he wants it.
Very well. Of course, I must take issue. My Scottish-Irish grandmother preferred her sweeties with congealed Scottish Ram's vomit ... those lads, as well meaning as they might might be, had no idea what they were going on about! I am afraid that all of that falderol was nothing more than gibberish, though it was entertaining! By the way! Have you noticed that some other posters are attempting to hijack the rather pleasing direction that this thread has taken, back to it's original course? Hey, what! Nudge! Nudge! Wink! Wink!

Not surprising, hope the guy does well elsewhere.
So, What hack are we going to bring in here now?
Bottom line is that right now officially all we have is a 3 star point guard coming and that is all folks. By the way it's not the chocolates that get me. Every time I hear CBI it makes me think of this and I don't know why but it does " I got a lot of heat on me. I have Bangkok PD, Interpol, FBI, MSNBC.”
Definitely a concern. Tomorrow will be a big day - and I'm not expecting it to go well for Texas.
I see you've been to Hudson on the Bend....bon appetite....!
Totally agree on having fun.....only way to deal with UT's woes these days
