Disagree. I saw Stephenville wide receiver Brice Gunter - a Texas State signee - simply abuse Brown last season because he was a well polished receiver who ran pristine routes. He wasn't flashy. He isn't a speed demon. He's just a sound, technical receiver and even though Brown was much more athletic, he just couldn't cover and win constantly against someone who was so technically sound.
Gunter is 6-3, probably runs in the 4.7 range. He's not a world class receiver.
Brown is awesome, don't get me wrong. But imo he's raw at this point. Potential wise, the sky is the limit.

Brown > Adams > Paris IMO
After their sophomore years I thought Paris was the best. Not the case anymore.
My personal philosophy is that potential is so much more important than polish when talking about HS kids.
Part of the problem in my opinion with Texas OL recruiting during the MacWhorter days was too much emphasis on HS polish instead of how high their college potential was. That's how you end up with well-coached guys out of Lake Travis who are already as good as they are going to be while East Texas monsters with lesser HS coaching go to OKState or Baylor and turn into 1st rounders.
For sure. I just think Adams has the best of both worlds. Plenty of potential, but plenty of shine already too.
I'll defer to your expertise here then. Best of both worlds is indeed ideal.
Though I am very glad to hear that Adams is a stud.
It really depends on how you value upside. Browns ceiling is as high, if not higher, than anyone's in the entire country, but Jamal is a much, much, much better football player as of right now.
