Gerry posed this question in The Eyes thread. If he can show that vertical speed this fall, then I'd say go get him.
He needs show quickness and the ability to go over the middle and take a lick. We now know he has vertical speed and borderline elite high point skills to go along with legit 6'3" height.

The problem is that if we are going to get him we have to make a decision soon and go after him. We don't have the luxury of time to wait until the fall.
He kind of seems like a Bobby Kennedy WR to me. Maybe that's unfair. But I favor the more explosive guys like Rhodes.
I agree. His film is just a bunch of GO routes and jump ball fades. Nothing impressive from a route running standpoint. I'm not a fan of his attitude either.

Yeah i agree... Rhodes is way more explosive and can do more after the catch with the ball in his hands. Rhodes can blow up the coverage and get past defenders. Rhodes also goes up and gets the ball very well for his size and frame. In my opinion Rhodes is the better player...
Massington is bigger and faster than Johnson currently and that says quite a bit.
As I recall Marcus Johnson's sole focus was to work hard, get an offer from Tx and play here. He flew under the radar for awhile until his senior year and some camps with few offers. Committed to Tech, then to Ag briefly before us. In other words he was waiting and working on an offer from Tx.
EM seems to be waiting on an offer from USC.
So in that sense I think they are very different.
Nah, he has too much speed to interest Kennedy.
I agree. He acts like we owe him an apology or something. If he wants to be here,he'll be here. That's IF we decide to offer. This is Texas. We don't just offer everyone and see who commits. We don't run around kissing ass and telling you you're the best in the state, you're our #1 guy etc. if its not true. I think that's what he wanted.
seems to be a few of those this year.
That's for DAMN sure.
