Injury update from Texas Head Athletic Trainer for Football Kenny Boyd heading into the Kansas State game week: Sophomore QB David Ash (ribs), senior WR Marquise Goodwin (thumb) and senior DE Alex Okafor (ankle) were sidelined during the TCU game and are listed as questionable. All three will continue to be evaluated for their availability in the season finale at Kansas State. OT Kennedy Estelle (shoulder) is out. As previously reported, senior RB Jeremy Hills (lower leg) and junior LB Demarco Cobbs (knee) sustained season-ending injuries against the Horned Frogs.
Reading between the lines neither of Ash, Goodwin or Okafor will play Saturday.
Mack now has an excuse for the loss....
Probably too soon to say.
Watching a whole game of case would be horrible
Miles Onyebugle needs to start taking qb reps....
Purely a guess; but Okafor and Ash will probably try to go. Okafor has a sprained ankle. He will have is taped and give it a go. Its his last game. He probably won't last , but he will try. If x-rays had shown a broken rib; Ash would be ruled out. Purely a matter of how badly he's hurting. He played through a supposed broken wrist earlier , so I expect him to give it a go. I have no idea about Goodwin. He doesn't have much motivation to play after how little he was used this year.
Not that any of this matters.
That would tough since he is out for the year.
Completely wasted year. Given a red-shirt; he would have grown into a very good tight end, but he needed a year to gain weight and strength.
Just saw Goodwin's injury. He won't play. A wide receiver can't play with a badly sprained thumb. Okafor will try to go; but he won't be effective. I watched the first series in the second half. He was fine going straight; but couldn't put any stress on the ankle to move laterally. He may last a quarter; but that's about the best he can give.
Does anyone know what part of the game that Ash suffered his rib injury? I was at the game and didn't know when this might have occurred. I thought maybe on TV you might have noticed when that happened.
Apparently he came up gingerly after the first series.
I've rewatched the first half twice and haven't seen a play that he took a blow to the ribs. He was blatantly speared on the first series on a scramble; but it wasn't to the ribs and he came up without showing any effects of the spear.

Thanks for the info!
I had read somewhere else that he had a late hit on the 3rd play, but they thought it was to the head.
"I don't want to talk about things, I'd rather do things. We just talked, now it's time to do!"
when did ash play through a "supposed broken wrist"?
it was a bruise.
i swear, half the posters on this site are just making sh*t up.
I swear, some people can't actually read and comprehend. Notice the modifying adjective, "supposed". That was the internet rumor du jour. Posted first on OB, then copied and continued here. He didn't have a broken wrist then; and doesn't have broken ribs now. It really wasn't hard to understand in the first place.
2012--"Game Over." What a season to remember....

This is false. He played against TCU.
Sorry you feel that way! Ash has done nothing in games against good teams. Don't see where Case could possibly do worse. I am hoping to see Overstreet myself, Oh and an offensive line to show up.
I'm sure SID office sanctioned this photo release. Good Lord. SMH
