Jordan Hicks (hip/groin) is out and is out for the remainder of the season.
Kennedy Estelle (shoulder) is out.
Ashton Dorsey (calf) and Sheroid Evans (lower leg) will play this week.
I want to see Sheroid Evans on the field. Too much speed to be wasted on the bench especially when we still have two guys playing who cannot or will not tackle.
I've had high hopes for him because of his elite measurables but I think he's close to being written off.
In the spring, he'll split his time 50/50 with football and track, thus allowing other kids to get in front of him. On top of that, Diggs refuses to move to safety where he'd shore up the back end, so Evans is blocked by Diggs and Byndom.
Best case for the defense is that the light switch comes on and he forces his way onto the field, because he adds freaky speed and athleticism that the D otherwise doesn't have.
not that it is a surprise but Jordan H. being lost for the season just sucks. well hopefully he will have a great senior year.
Mods...Jordan was hurt in the 3rd game. Medical redshirt is almost a 100% right?
If he meets the criteria for the percentage of games, which he does, all Texas has to prove is that the injury caused him to miss the rest of the season.
The only positive about the Hicks injury is the play time, experience and leadership gained for the other linebackers which should really help for next year.
If he gets his RS, he will still be a Jr and have 2 years left, if he wants them.
Hicks injury seemed to indicate a foregone conclusion a long time ago
"Don't know. Never had one"
-- D. Royal-Mack Brown how to coach a team after a losing season
I am assuming Brown can't get a medical RS due to him playing 3 plays in the Okie State game?
I was thinking he wouldn't be back this year either until reading he would this week.
He had 10 carries in the Iowa State game, so he wouldn't have been eligible.
This. The negative it did to this year's defense may be balanced out by the positive it does for next year with a lot of returning experience at LB.
