Will that scholarship be used towards a recruit on offense or defense?
Honestly don't think anyone outside of Mack and staff would know, and wouldn't be surprised if they've decided for sure yet.
Macks been around too Long, not to have a back up plan. IMO load up on another OL or DL.
Wouldn't mind seeing Chevis offered as a FB.
Some of the guys on the board don't necessarily have or need a backup plan, and some of the guys, if taken, would move other guys to defense. For example, if we couldn't find a corner we liked, we could take an extra and move one of the receivers in this class or last to corner. The same works for all purpose backs.
I don't think there's necessarily a backup plan for Wilson. I think we are looking at him because he's too good of a talent to let go if he wants to play for us.
This may be just me, but I say give it to Hughes
My guess would be best available football player, period. Offense, defense or position may be irrelevant.
Kicker!! that can kick straight every time! and get it uppp
thats what she said...

Yes...Hughes deserves it.
LB Mike Mitchell should have been offered by now. if Wilson wants to to Oregon, give his ship to Hughes. if not, save it for the 2014 class.
No he shouldn't have, he's a back-up option to Prevot or Hall. But, If UT was taking a regular size class, Mike Mitchell would've been offered already.

With Edmond starting thru '13 at least, and Santos right behind him thru '15 at least, Mitchell would need to be willing to wait until his Jr. year to be a starter. Not sure he is willing to do that...
Not wise to look at depth charts and decide that since kid A is from the class before kid B, kid A will automatically top the depth chart. The kid racked up 151 tackles, 11 sacks, 32 TFL, 7 FF, and 2 INTs against legit 5A competition and combined with his freakish athleticism, I have a feeling he would find his way onto the field. Kid can play some football.
His stats are seriously unbelievable.
Agree with this ^^...Cobbs showed up as an ATH with no LB experience...& now on the verge of becoming a great OLB...A Benson showed up as LB & is lucky to get ST playing time...Mitchell should be offered & determine his best LB spot after he arrives
so do i.
and position wise what do Prevot and Hall have to do Mitchell?
Mitchell's dad also reports that Mike runs a 4.5, 40 inch vert, 320 bench and 480 squat at 6'4" 215-220. Poster on here that works at Plano West mentioned that he witnessed Mitchell run a 4.6 in shoes too big, so the speed is definitely there, although probably not 4.5.
Video displaying his athleticism (sophomore year dunks)...

He's a Stud!!!
Mitchell's junior year stats per game (10 games) - 15.1 tackles, 1.1 sacks, 3.2 TFL, .7 FF, .2 INT - 5A Plano West
Santos junior year stats per game (12 games) - 120 tackles (10 per game), 5 sacks (.42 per game), 15 TFL (1.25 per game), 2 INT (.17 per game) - 3A Van
Edmond junior year stats per game (16 games) - 182 tackles (11.38 pg), 5 sacks (.31 pg), 34 TFL (2.13 pg), 7 FF (.44 pg), 5 INT (.31 pg) - 2A Daingerfield
