Funny how the same people who were worried that Diaz will leave after this season for a HC job are now saying that he is terrible, in over his head, blah blah blah. Sure, our defense isn't living up to the expectations we all placed on them, but there is a serious amount of overreaction taking place after this game. I don't think we've ever played a team with the QB and WR talent that we saw on Saturday, they are scary good. Will the D improve? I hope so, but let's stop the trash talking of Manny, put this loss in the rear view, and whoop-up on OU next weekend.
I really liked Kenny V's effort running across field to track down the WVU RB. Vaccaro likely stopped a big gain on that one. He had some misses too, but he looked like he gave max effort.
I see full-out effort by Vaccaro. Giving 101% every snap doesn't make you a great football player though. I think that some of y'all are upset that Kenny Vaccaro isn't Earl Thomas. Kenny is still a very talented football player.
I respect Kenny V being a team leader. I like that he is staying with it too and not backing down from being a team leader. He needs to step it up, and I think that he knows that.
Vaccaro had almost as good a game as he could have had. A couple of takeaways would have been nice, but he shut down Tavon Austin for the most part.
Geno made his hay picking on Phillips and Byndom.
I'll admit it, I've been spoiled. At least we have comparisons, to tell good from bad, you know ...
Hook 'Em! ...'til early in the morn.
If it were just yesterday the D was dramatically out-coached I might agree.
The "left things on the table" sounds critical of the defensive gameplan, along with being critical of the play of others. He's a dick, but that's not why this defense sucks.
I actually spoke to a scout this morning who told me that, from what he saw last night, it helped KV's stock. I'm not sure if he saw the entire game, but he had quite a few good things to say from some plays KV made last night.
