Gunner Kiel's time at Notre Dame may be coming to an end. According to a report from IrishSportsDaily.com, the quarterback is considering a transfer.
Kiel came to Notre Dame as part of its 2012 recruiting classes and was considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the country. He redshirted the 2012 season and ran Notre Dame's scout team, impressing the Irish coaching staff.
The report does not give a reason for Kiel's supposed interest in transferring.
Kiel had been expected to compete with Everett Golson for the starting job this spring, but considering that Golson just helped lead the Fighting Irish to a 12-0 mark in the regular season and a berth in the BCS Championship, you have to think it wasn't going to be easy for Kiel to take his job.
If Kiel does decide to transfer from Notre Dame he'll have to sit out a year but does have four years of eligibility remaining. CBSSports.com's Bruce Feldman reports that a coach at a major program said Kiel's representatives contacted him about the possibility of transferring last month, but the coach told them he wasn't interested.
The Indiana native originally committed to Indiana before changing his mind and flipping to LSU. Kiel then switched his commitment from LSU to Notre Dame shortly before he was scheduled to enroll in classes in Baton Rouge.
After redshirting the 2012 season the highly-touted quarterback is reportedly looking to leave South Bend.
9 and 4 at Texas sucks!

Hectic/Crazy recruitment and his saga gets even more hectic only a year into it.

Lol, this is like a bad standup act at this point. Are we supposed to ask what kind of chance does Texas have?

If I was Mack at this point QB transfer would be out of the question. With heard for next year and all these QB that feel they have an opportunity to be starter you can't take a transfer like gunner and expect them to stay. If he does you'd have to wait a year, deal with all the QB transferring out because of it, heard possibly decommitt and who knows if he's any good. Sounds like a bigger mess then we have already.
Nobody can judge yet because nobody here knows the situation at ND that he was in. I've seen so many shitty and terrible situations to know that it's a definite possibility. If Overstreet or Brewer were to transfer I'd take him, but he probably doesn't want to wait two more seasons for Ash to be gone
