Did I miss something?
Gerry changed jobs? That just can't be, he never does that.
Yeah, I noticed he didn't make a contribution to The Eyes yesterday. Hopefully he is just on vacation?
Where is this posted?
It's going to be a long vacation. His 247 twitter account has been deleted
I saw a tweet from another 247 account that Gerry is no longer with 247.
Bobby - Fill us in, is Gerry gone?
Bobby is out of town right now, but yes Gerry is no longer with 247Sports. I'll let Jeff or Bobby post the details.
Check me out on twitter: http://www.twitter.com/247Blake
Damn! Where did THAT come from?
I'm on vacation this week with limited access but yes Gerry is no longer with 247. About a week ago, he decided he wanted some time away from the grind.
We offered him the job to be the lead national guy and it's just something he didn't want to do.
We value Gerry and I personally think he's terrific. I'll be able to answer more later. But feel free to PM me with questions.

I think he had to go play the PGA tour or something.
XoGisele, Ashley Sky, Niki Skyler
Gerry hasn't taken a job with another company or anything along those lines. I don't want to totally speak for him, but he made the decision he felt was best for he and his family. He wanted to take a step back and spend more time at home.
It wasn't a nasty split. Nobody here at 247 has anything bad to say about Gerry and vice versa. This was simply the decision Gerry felt was best for he and his family.
It's never an easy thing when the guy who helped bring you along in this business all of a sudden isn't there. This has personally been a pretty tough deal for me.
It's tough not working with Gerry and not having him here, but trust me when I say this decision is what he truly felt what was best for him and I, for one, respect that.
I guess if there's a bright side it's that there won't be anymore golf threads.
I wish I had the financial ability to walk away from a job with no other one in hand.
Gerry should apply for the new job opening in the Texas football office...
Gerry being gone is a bummer. If Jeff leaves, I may do the same.
There are some things in this world I don't want to see changed. (And others I would welcome in a heartbeat.)
Who is going to crush our dreams now?!
Gerry leaves... job posting goes up....coincidence???
I can assure you I'm not going anywhere.
Your mom. Kidding.

We certainly respect that, but he will be missed. I enjoyed his perspective and he was a nice complement to you and Bobby and the other 247 writers. Best of luck to all.
Wow I don't know what to make of this, been following him around since his OB days and his little blog he had before 247 started. Wish we would have been given a heads up on this, at least to say good bye.
Gerry is the reason I joined this site and while Jeff bobby and Blake have done a great job it won't be the same without him. Best of luck to you Gerry if you're reading this.

Please ensure his replacement has seen Tombstone. Please. On a serious note, best wishes to Gerry. You will be missed brother.
If only this could happen.....
