Apparently not, if your last name is Manziel.
A week after living it up at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Johnny Manziel decided to stick around the for the city's signature event.
Crazy considering he's already academically a Jr. and on pace to graduate next season.
He'll be gone after the season anyway.
You never did Mardi Gras in college? One of the great times I had....or so I'm told.
It's not just Mardi Gras, though. It's multiple midweek concerts, Super Bowl events, etc. I'm all for the guy living like a rock star, though. More power to him. But I guess winning the Heisman gets you out of class faster at A&M than that little dog barking in class.
who cares. hell if I were him i'd be living it up too. Its never gonna get better. did all you guys forget what it was like being 20 and in college.
He's not studying to become a lawyer or a doctor. He's a "business" major, that gives him plenty of free time
thought he was a redshirt freshman which make him a soph.
He is what you say he is football-wise but NL is right as far as academically.
Sorry double post

Early enrollee who like most football players spends his summers in school/workouts. If you consider summers as one semester, that's six semesters. Plus you have however many hours he started with to become an early enrollee thru AP classes in high school.
Hey, I resemble that remark!
Is that what he told you?
I feel it is only appropriate to quote Charles Barkley on these matters, as he is an expert in the field of the SEC student athlete.
Ernie: "Auburn is a pretty good school. To graduate from there I suppose you really need to work hard and put forth maximum effort."
Charles: "20 pts and 10 rebounds will get you through also!"
HE will be there 3 more years....look how short he is. He will leave atm set for life though. Best aggy ever...just notnfl qb
The kid comes from a big $$$ family anyway and is probably only going to school for athletic reasons.
Why Mack & staff never looked at him at QB is beyond me.
He numbers his Senior year in high school were absolutely SICK.
texaztom.................that is a good question but if they did go to class would they learn anything? What are the odds before this time next year the media (who ignored johnny footballs off the field issues all last year and also during the recruiting process) will be calling for him to return the Heisman Trophy.
"Leadership is wisdom, courage and great carelessness of self"
There was a reason he was a 3 star with all of that ability. I don't blame Coach Brown at all on this one............he's a bad kid.
Sin when you were in college did you attend class?
He can go pro after this year... He will have been out of HS for 3 yrs...
Not when I could help it.
I remember taking Astronomy as an easy science credit, as we liberal arts types looked to take. And on the first day, the prof said, "everything we're going to cover is on this syllabus" (sp?).
Well that's all I needed. I took my copy and walked out the door.
My next visit to that classroom was on the date reserved for a review before the first quiz. Just my luck the prof was ahead of schedule.
Not only was it past the review; it was the day of the quiz...and I hadn't even picked up the book.
And so it went that whole semester in most of my classes. But damn, I had a great time.
Needless to say, A&M decided it would be a good idea if I took a vacation from school at that point. For better or worse, they eventually decided to open the gates again for me after some rigorous recovery studies elsewhere.
I got brains. I got big ol' brains. I got dinosaur brains.
He was arrested 3 times in HS....................the ID thing was not one of the 3
He's taking all his courses online. I think that's the new deal at a&m.
