I didn't do that, but congrats on dominating your straw man.
What did Dream do before '94? You mean aside from being the best defensive player in NBA history and one of the ten best player of all time?
I think after taking his team to 2 finals in the 80's, he had to deal with a crappy roster for an 8 year stretch, but then as you know, that was fixed and the rest is history.
Not saying you're wrong, but how are you supporting your claim of "best defensive player in NBA history?"
F Dallas the Rockets will get him
All time leader in blocks. Top 10 all time in steals. The eyeball test. Opinions of his peers.
Chamberlain and Russel played in an era where blocks weren't tracked but they also played against a bunch of 6 ft white dudes. All equal, Dream puts up the same blocks numbers as those two if not more, with his athleticism.
A center having that many steals is just silly.
Much as I hate to admit it as a Mavs fan, this makes too much sense. What could change this would be if Dallas could quickly trade for a point guard but to do so would make unable to afford Howard one would think. Houston makes a lot more sense as his landing place and will immediately make them a contender.
Spot on and I've been hearing rumblings the Mavs were trying to trade for Rondo, is that correct? The only reason Howard would choose Dallas over Houston today with no changes would be because he wants to be the lone ranger on a team more than playing for a contender that's set up for long term success. The timing just worked out better for Houston than it did for Dallas this time.
That being said, he may still choose LA.
The Rockets organization is going full bore all in with the group they have going to meet with Dwight tonight. Les Alexander, Daryl Morey, Tad Brown (that's 1,2,3 in the corporate pecking order), Mchale, Harden, Parsons, Olajuwon, and Drexler. They've never done anything close to this in trying to recruit a FA.
I'd love for Howard to end up with the Mav's but I just don't see it happening. Would be really nice to get him if he can get fully healthy and get his head on straight and start playing like he did years ago in Orlando. Cuban loves to get his and his fans hopes up when all these free agents become available but he hasn't been able too land a single one of them yet. I think if Cuban would get rid of that dipshit idiot Donnie Nelson and being someone else in that it would help.
If Dallas can't get Howard, I'd just as soon hope Houston does since they're my 2nd favorite team. Sending Akeem and Drexler to meet with him is a great idea.
just another bitter mavs fan, nothing more
As opposed to Rocket fans? They are one in the same. Delusional fans are delusional.
Fans, in and of themselves, are in essence delusional. Wasn't take a shot at anyone but Howard and his team are driving this bus, not anyone with the Mavs or Rockets. That's all. I'm guilty of it too. Like drinking the kool aid for the Longhorns when I know I should glare critically and not with blinders on.
But will they agree to relocate the team, force the league to allow a free throw shooter the option to dunk (for 1/2 point x difficulty factor not to exceed 2), change uniform colors to red, blue, and yellow, add a cape, let Howard have the number "S", and let Howard design the offense and select the coach?

Lots of homer-ism in this thread from both Dallas and Houston fans.
Nice side step here ...
My comment still stands, 81's post reeks of butthurt
Howard to the Globetrotters, mark it down.
"I don't hate you, I'm just not necessarily excited about your existence."
I bet they would let him wear the number "S" and a cape.
That's exactly why this is a done deal
