Texas football: Longhorns are getting a guy that Mack thinks looks like Vince Young
That is an impressive young man.................

I'm not trying to start a controversy but didn't Swoopes mention last year that he hadn't thrown a ball for months after the season? Regardless, this kid is going to be special. Hopefully playing baseball.
Always been hard for me to envision Thomas not being successful as a QB - if he ends up at Oklahoma.
Meeting him in person, he came off the same way. In talking to his head coach at Colleyville Heritage, he said he was the exact same way as he appeared in person and in this article.

He won't be a high enough pick to take the money. OU lost Archie Bradley a few years ago but he was a top 10 pick. Thomas likely, won't go in the first 4-5 rounds. Of course, all of that could change with a dominant senior year.
Think the Sooners hit it out of park on this one.,
The likelihood that Texas made a poor evaluation at the QB position is extremely high. Some of us having been beating that drum before they even took his commitment. Nothing has changed in my mind.

It's not like anything bad happened last time we skipped a year without landing a legitimate QB prospect.

Heard or bust.
It's all about Heard at this point IMO. Let Ash take the reigns for the next two seasons and then Heard can take over if we don't have a playmaker in Brewer or Overstreet.
This philosophy worked wonderfully with Gilbert
Ill be shocked if Thomas doesn't go high in the MLB draft
Our approach on QB recruiting in this class was borderline unfathomable. Bobby, are you also still as high on Barrett as you were?
Of course the QB issue has been ongoing since McCoy.
The fact that QB evaluation has set us back before, going through the whole Gilbert episode
Then this staff takes Swoopes
And when it is glaringly obvious Swoopes might not be the answer at QB, they don't take another QB? How do they not take another?
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills
What this says is while we tend to blame poor evaluations of QB's on GD and Harsin it is probably more Mack Brown (poor evaluation) than anybody else.............
