By school & conference for 2006-2001 (per year)...
Texas avg 95K+ over the 5 year period
Since the stadium expansion, I suspect the average attendance for the next 5 years will be over 100,000.
Attendence numbers are a joke. I've been to several games the last three seasons where I saw that the stadium wasn't even probably 80% full and the reported attendence was still 95k plus.
The average attendance for the Big East is lower than the Big 12's lowest attendance school.
"I've heard some of our fans say, 'We were always an SEC school. We just didn't know it," athletic director Bill Byrne said.
Huge drop off from the SEC to the Big 12. That basically says on average SEC teams are grossing ~$2 million more per game than average Big 12 teams. That plus their tv contract is why you see the realignment dance going on right now.
9 and 4 at Texas sucks!
- Jeff Howe
This shows the pact of losing Nebraska (85k), aggy (80k), Mizzou (60k), while adding TCU (36k) at the same time. It'd be interesting to see the averages pre-conference realignment.
Oh yeah, East Carolina always surprises me when I see the attendance numbers. ACC should scoop them up.
I think TCU's attendance will go up with the move to the Big 12. Now it may not be TCU fans since so many teams are within driving distance, but it should increase.

Looking at all the data, and it what is usually given is "paid" attendance. Definitely a down year @ Royal-Memorial from reports last season. Wait till Gas hits $6 a Gal.
"Don't know. Never had one"
-- D. Royal-Mack Brown how to coach a team after a losing season
It will tick up but is still ultimately going to be low comparatively because of stadium size.
Stadium size is a wonderful thing for the home team. I don't think that it says much about the strength of a conference though.
I thought size didn't matter (smile)
