Rory McIlroy relishes low-key British Open
Rory McIlroy went out to dinner at one of this English city's finer restaurants. He got to enjoy his meal in relative peace.
"Don't know. Never had one"
-- D. Royal-Mack Brown how to coach a team after a losing season
Southern Oregon Coast. Absolutely beautiful. Here are a couple of pictures.
I actually think Phil has adjusted his game well to fit the links courses the past few years.
Maybe, but at the end of the day he's like most American golfers and hits the ball too high to win a British, IMO. Phil is a magician going at a green when he can toss a ball high in the air and let the spin rate do the work when the ball makes impact with the green. I just don't know if his bump and run, low-ball game has progressed enough to give him a shot on an annual basis. Yes, there are a couple of top 5s in his career over the pond, but for the most part he's middle of the pack at best.

Harrington is trending for me. Top 10 in both majors - weather right up his alley IMO.
There are some bunker carries this week, and especially with the weather expected - so it will force some drivers for more guys.

Phil can do any shot, the problem is that he can do any shot.
Played the Ocean Course at Kiowah this year prior to going to the Masters. Great course that is going to be brutal for the pga championship if the wind is blowing.
Bandon Dunes and Pebble are definitely on my must play list.
Disagree. He might be able to hit any shot, but he doesn't hit every shot well. The announcers were even discussing, while Phil was on the range this morning, how much work he's had to put into his knockdown game, that it's unnatural for him. There's a reason he's been generally unsuccessful at the British Open. He's acknowledged his difficulty with the conditions overseas - because his style of play really isn't conducive for those conditions.
Scott ties record, leads crowded Open leaderboard
Adam Scott had a chance at history. He gladly settled for tying a course record. Scott equaled the lowest British Open score at Royal Lytham & St. Annes.
