If a bullfrog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass
Interesting name, but Mack has shown that he should be trusted. If this comes to fruition, Mack will have added 4 coaches from the SEC. I would be interested in Vandy's statistics running the ball in the SEC. Any OL put into the league?
Also, asking how Westerman would react is valid. Sure he shouldn't be consulted, but it's a question that should be posed. Just as I want to know how the DB recruits react to Gray, I am curious as to Westerman.
Not going to fight with you guys on this stuff, but the Rice OL coach will probably take the Miami Hurricane OL job if Texas doesn't make a decision in the next 24 hours or so (or may do it anyway depending on the timing of an offer).
You guys think just because a guy is at Rice or Vandy that he can't be a good coach. Sometimes that may very well be the case. Sometimes, it's not. I don't think you can cast a broad generalization like that.

I'm not necessarily disappointed. I just want to be able to run the ball, and if I remember correctly, the WV and Tulsa offenses put up ridiculous numbers through the air and on the ground.
It's amazing how some people can feel comfortable forming an opinion without any real basis for it. I am blank slate on Hand, but I would think that Applewhite and Harsin are the guys driving this decision at this point and I do trust their ability to discern the skills that are going to be a good fit. If this turns out to be the hire then some people will be disappointed because it's not a name they already know... well how many offensive line coaches can any of you name off the top of your head in college football? Two? Three? Do you really think those are the only guys that have top shelf talent?
The most important thing here is the ability to teach the technique, familiarity with philosophy, and ability to identify talent. Everyone would like to see things work out with Westerman but that is certainly not the criteria we should be evaluating the prospects on.
