He'll redshirt this season following an ACL. Tackle just got thinner.
From the SID:
Texas freshman offensive lineman Camrhon Hughes sustained a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his right knee playing pickup basketball. He will undergo reconstructive surgery and will redshirt the 2012 season.

That hurts, wish him a good recovery
Note to other players: Stay off the basketball court
Is tackle the new tight end?
Dang... seems like one step forward and two back sometimes...

Well hell. How many healthy tackles will we have?
Damn. OT Depth is getting scary.
Good Luck to Camrhon on his recovery.

Ivan Williams, ugh
Onward Through The Fog
Sucks....please let Estelle be in shape
I feel bad for the kid but he wasn't going to play this year barring disaster striking. My bet would be that Riser would have been moved to tackle before Hughes. Hughes was simply too raw to play as a true freshman. What stinks is that he can't use his redshirt year for reshaping his body. I wish him a speedy recovery.
If I'm Stacy Searles, I hit the JUCO circuit NOW.
Wow OT depth will pretty much nonexistent. wish him a speedy recovery
XoGisele, Ashley Sky, Niki Skyler
How difficult is it for linemen to recover from ACL injuries Jeff?
That was my first thought. Nothing against Hughes because I like his upside, but if he was getting meaningful snaps for us at tackle this year, we would probably already be in trouble. The main thing that sucks about this is the setback with his development.
This one hurts!
wow, sucks! He wasnt going to play and 99.9% was going to RS but he would have gotten a lot of good, needed practice reps. That what he will miss the most. Hope he has a healthy recovery.
Anybody have any idea how Taylor Doyle and Marcus Hutchins are doing? With Kelley gone and Hughes hurt, they have a chance to play some. I guess Poehlmann is the 3rd tackle right now, with TE more secure, and Estelle likely competing.
Think Searles and Wylie are feed sacking Poehlman 10,000 calories a day?
I wonder if this has any effect on the rumors about Greenlea transferring? Is there any truth to this?
I would suggest that no offensive linemen or senior safeties be allowed to play pickup basketball, volleyball, bowling, croquet, rugby, quidditch, Wii anything, badminton, four square, chess, connect four, chutes and ladders or potty putter toilet time golf until such time as the 2012 season is over.
I got brains. I got big ol' brains. I got dinosaur brains.
Hopkins is your swing tackle
And rightfully so.
Crap the hits keep comin. Heres to a speedy recovery.
