Lets try not to disparage the kid, since that's a bullshit move and reflects poorly on the fanbase.
That said, it was obvious he was being recruited around and while I thought him a perfect fit for Harsin's system, he's much less of an obvious fit under Applewhite's direction.
I bet he goes to Ole Miss.
Maybe DG has his nose connected to Mr. Knox's ass. Boy doesn't seem to be able to make up his own mind, needs a guide dog to find Columbus. Good luck boys and thanks for not coming to UT, we only want men that want to be here, not boys that don't understand what commitment means.
Moving on. Wasn't a fit for the new offense anyway.
Oh, I disagree.
I have a brother that is the same age as these recruits. These aren't helpless kids. If my brother handled things the way these guys did, I'd be disappointed as hell in him.
Look, I get that he committed before he was ready. I get that he got second thoughts. No one blames him (or Knox) for these things. What the fanbase is upset about is the lying, the manipulating, and the mockery him and Knox made of the whole process.
They should have decommitted once they were having second thoughts, which apparently was immediately. No one got upset when Quincy Russell decommitted a few years back when he realized he committed too soon. Instead they took secret visits, lied to the coaches, and posted stuff about other schools on their twitter, all while remaining "100% committed."
I wish the kid success and in no means do I want him to fail. I'm just glad he will get a chance to succeed elsewhere.

Finally another problem out the window. It will allow for more room and bring in someone who really wants to play at Texas. I could do without kid like him and his buddy.
Just saw this gem:
BIG MEECH @Ummm_Mr_Knox 33m
I promise I don't like bobby burton
good luck, Daniel. If you learn the definition of the word commitment, we'd love to see if there's still a spot for you.
Reason #4872 why I like Bobby Burton
poor baby. did that mean ol' mr. burton steal your dwama?
No, with the change to spread
Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. I read that somewhere once.

LOL. This was really funny. He probably believes that everyone would have been happy with the explanation of his Ohio visit if it wasn't for Bobby.
If it is official, good luck to Daniel in his future endeavors as well as Demetrius.
The whole recruitment of the kids from the TAPPs programs really doesn't/didn't make a lot of sense to me. Maybe they are physical freaks to get rated as highly as they are, but you look at the highlight tapes and they are playing at a zero competition level. I've seen bigger, faster, and better opponents at some of the local junior high games.
We all know your promises mean absolutely nothing.
My favorite Knox story is when he went to the rivals camp last year and just quit. Scared to take reps and compete.
i agree with this. CA and LA have a completely different private school system. Texas private schools don't tend to consistently produce good players, because Texas schools can't offer the same kinds of scholarships/incentives. sure, there are exceptions (the acho boys and kalen thornton), but they are not the norm.
fwiw, all saints isn't tapps. they're in the spc (southwest preparatory conference). they battle juggernauts such as fort worth country day and cistercian preparatory school. st. marks and houston kinkaid have probably had the most consistent success in that group over the years, and even then, they can't really compete against the better UIL schools. a bunch of soft, rich city kids, for the most part.
edit: forgot to link the post of rozell's to which i was responding

This pleases me. Now we know for sure it's not a wasted scholly to get his friend.
"I don't hate you, I'm just not necessarily excited about your existence."
Sure would like to know what their S/C coach thinks about how the kids handled their recruitment.
Oops. Forgot to add:

brockermeyer is probably in a tough spot. the head coach at all saints was very involved in knox's recruitment, and wanted him to string out the process to draw attention to other players on the team. i'm positive that the coach is under some pressure from the over-bearing, entitled parents of kids in the rivercrest/crestline/monticello area that are just convinced that if a college coach could just see their kid, the coach would immediately see that the child is destined for greatness.
I'm shocked by this announcement! I am leaving work immediately to start drinking!
