From the official thread:
There ya go aggies...let's hear your "We'll play Texas any time, any place" mess now. The answer is: "Every year, at a different host site...if Texas is not already in the top 4." Now, go earn the right to play in this bowl. Heck, earn the right to play in ANY bowl! You ran, but you can't hide.
Yes, Mack has not put enough emphasis on winning championships.
His emphasis previously has been to aim for 2nd place.
Between now and August will be must reads on the big 247 network!!!
Before this run of mediocrity the last two years, all we heard about was 10 win seasons which while an accomplishment in its own right is second place talk. In fact going into Colts Jr. Year he talked about "improving" off the previous year. No talk of championships. Championship trophies should be the only goal/talk at Texas. Fair or not.
The only things in life that are certain are death, taxes and speculation about football.
The only thing that would make this better is a regular season meeting. I know we have Tenn and LSU coming up soon on our OOC, but still, a conference wide battle in Sept would be sweet.
There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.
Note, that all of the communications have been referring to this as a "partnership" between the SEC and Big XII. While the only item of the partnership announced was the new bowl, there is clearly more brewing.
What did I miss? We're not talking about an annual matchup, we're talking about a post-season matchup, right?
Brian mentioned in one of the threads that conversations are ongoing as to annual cross-conference rivalry match-ups and references a source that says that is "likely"
Could this provide enough cover for Texas and a&m also Kansas and Misery to start playing again.

Any guesses about whether the big four conferences will eventually agree that the winners of the Rose Bowl and Champions Bowl should play one another in an additional bowl the four conferences together control?
when u say "we" have Tenn and Lsu on our schedule, who is "we?" because its not Texas.
a sept conf battle is a good idea!!
He's a Sooner.
i see, thanks!
I say yes.
Big 12/SEC bowl alliance is great news for the Big 12
Hey, wasn't the Big 12 supposed to be a conference in trouble? A struggling league? A teetering alliance?
"Don't know. Never had one"

Harsh...but so true.
