This is what I have read also, but the big reason behind the FSU and Clemson rumors is the new playoff format and subsequent payout. Under the new proposal the pay-outs are HUGE for conferences that are in the playoffs.
Based on the stats from all the years of the BCS, the ACC would have only sent one team to the playoffs while the Big 12 would have sent 9. Therefore a shift in conferences almost guarantees them a large playoff pay-out by strengthening the Big 12 and weakening the ACC.
I definitely agree that FSU is on the upswing in basketball. Louisville has just been very solid for several years. Hadnt even thought about how salty the conference would be with those baseball additions.
say we land FSU, Clemson, Louisivlle and Miami. Do we then take a run at Georgia Tech and Pitt to make it a sixteen team super conference with all the aforementioned schools and Iowa State and West Virginia in the "east"?
Fsu fan here how strong are these rumors?
Based on Etheridge's past posts on the subject I'd say "strong to very strong". Brian slams and goes hard with the conference realignment rumors. Straight droppin knowledge, son!
I kinda like #3.....
#1 Adding Clemson and FSU (12 Teams)
East: FSU, Clemson, WVU, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State
West: Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Baylor, Texas Tech
#2 Adding Miami and Louisville in 2014 (14 teams) (in addition to FSU and Clemson)
East: FSU, Clemson, WVU, , Miami, Louisville, Kansas, Kansas State
West: Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Iowa State
#3 Adding Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh (16 teams) (in addition to the other adds)
Southeast Pod: Miami, FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech
Northeast Pod: West VIrginia, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Iowa State
Midwest Pod: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State

Baseball will be awesome. Great teams
But that would ruin the aggy's plan for the Big XII to be gone in three years and the LHN to never happen...heh heh heh.
