I'll have more from today's availability later to preview this weekend's season-opening series against Sacramento State.

-- D. Royal-Mack Brown how to coach a team after a losing season
Damn, I was hoping that Walla would be back to his freshman form.
Do you expect Felts to be an every day guy, or does it look like he is getting passed up?
This team looks really young... I hope they can execute the small ball better and field like a real Texas team. I hope that Weiss found a defensive spot that he can play well at.
According to Augie last night, most of them will be fighting for a position on this squad.
I've been wondering about Walla as well. Pulling for him to get back to 100%.
Felts will most likely be your weekend starter, but Augie really likes Montalbano (no relation). He said today that Montalbano will likely start the midweek games.
I really hope Hinojosa gets the opportunity to be the everyday SS and he runs with it for three years.
Watch out for Ben Johnson.
Payton in the clean up spot. Very interesting. He will see a lot of good pitches.

More alarming than anything....i love Peyton as leadoff or number 2 but this shows you we will contimue to have no power, thus limiting our post season potrntial. I hope someone steps up as i know the lineup will change
One More Day!!
Glad to see Weiss back at 2nd. I saw him play once while at Brenham and thought he looked better in the middle.
Don't be afraid to ride the lightning.
From the sound of it it may take some time to adjust back to second, but I think it'll be for the best, for him and the team, long-term.
I know that they worked Weiss at 2B a good amount this past fall. I heard he is quite comfortable playing that position, but like Dave said there will be some type of an adjustment phase.
According to my sources, this move was made to optimize both the lineup and the team's defense. They feel that this change improves both aspects of the team.
I've also heard some really good things about Moynihan. He could really help the top of the Texas lineup.
In my opinion, Walla's health may be the X-factor. If he is healthy and is able to hit similar to his freshman season when given the opportunity he could really help provide the offensive depth that Texas has lacked in recent years.
It's here! Opening Day...enjoy the ride.
Let me know if anyone is making the trip to Stillwater later this year as we'll be there on Sat & Sun.
