on no. of native Texans in the NFL from DFW, Houston, Central Texas and East Texas.
DFW - 28
Houston - 27
East Texas - 20
Central Texas - 17
West Texas - 5
Golden Triangle - 5
South Texas - 3
In conjunction with the previous article earlier this week, that leads me to these conclusions.
Houston and East Texas under-signed by Texas.
Central Texas over-signed by Texas.
DFW generally poorly evaluated for a period of time IMO.

Who'da thunk it?
Good stuff Bobby.
Sorry subject had me thinking you were talking about Big Red Imports payments to recruits.
We need to sic the A team on Houston and E Tex. The SEC, IMO, is going to be even more aggressive there after A&M's move and it is too damned important to not have some of our best recruiters focused on it. Searels might be part of the answer but not all.
Pretty good for East Texas considering the population difference between them and the DFW & Houston areas.
Bobby, this looks more like gerrymander work. Surprised Hamilton did not get the assignment.
That would probably require Gerry to remove his shoes. None of us want that kind of business going on today, its already Friday the 13th.
I'm more interested in where the new staff makes its numbers than the old staff stats. Interesting, though.
East Texas was over-McWhortered.
Academics probably an issue here as well (re East Texas). The Golden Triangle number surprises me on the down side.
The Houston area also needs to be adjusted for the Lyles effect on UT.
It would be interesting to overlay the area of coverage of the previous staff as well. Kennedy - DFW, Giles - west Houston, MacWhorter - East Texas, Greg Davis - Cent Texas, etc....
A&M and LSU have a much larger foot print in the Houston than they do DFW. OU and OSU are a primary rivals for the DFW. OU and A&M have historically recruited well in East Texas.
I saw an entire Houston Area Transit bus painted with Razorbacks yesterday at Hobby airport. SEC West schools definitely leveraging aggy to get into Houston area recruiting.
Central Texas was over-GregDavis'd.
They were closer so he thought that meant better
I think we all should look at the past say that is interesting and then focus on how much better
our new, improved, younger coaches will beat the bushes and evaluate talent and character. We are Texas and what starts here changes the world.

275-0 scoring margin
Dana X Bible's National Championship team
McWhorter loved him some Central Tx. OL.
He didn't like to get out very far.
