Not surprising the SEC has 6 straight teams behind the three undefeated ones. All but ensures at least one gets in and could set up another all SEC MNC game.
Too much respect given to the SEC, imo. There's no way 6 teams from one conference should be in the top 10 after 10 games.
I agree the SEC is down this year but it's hard to make a case that any team below those 6 should be above any of them.
Couldn't have said it better.
seems to me the ags should be ahead of bama. after all they beat them on the field
Agree for the most part. OU could make an argument since their two losses came to the #1 and #3 teams in the country.
Ags have two losses. 'Bama only one.
Louisville just lost to Syracuse, but that doesn't mean Syracuse should jump them in the rankings.
Aggy has two losses; Bama only has one loss so they shouldn't be behind aggy.
Now if they both had only one loss, that'd be a different story.
The good news is that only two of those six can play in a BCS bowl
On the BCS program they were projecting Bowl games and they projected OU playing aggy in the FIesta Bowl. aggy being chosen over any other SEC team because of their "marketable quarterback".
Games that will help if we take care of our business. These only include games where both teams are ranked and at least one is ranked above us.
No. 13 Stanford at No. 2 Oregon
No. 2 Oregon at No. 16 Oregon State
No. 6 Florida at No. 10 Florida State
No. 9 South Carolina at No. 11 Clemson
No. 24 Oklahoma State at No. 12 Oklahoma
No. 13 Stanford at No. 17 UCLA
No. 3 Notre Dame at No. 18 USC
Then you have the conference championship games that will knock a couple of teams down too.
I love playing every team in the Big 12 but one problem is that you cannot avoid playing the good teams like you can in the SEC. Aggie does not play Florida, Georgia or South Carolina this year. If all the top teams in the SEC had to play each other then they would have more losses.
A&M opened with Florida
And played them tough. A&M led going into the 4th quarter.
Your right. I was listing SEC east teams and wasn't thinking.
I still believe that my point is valid about a strong ten team conference and a strong at the top fourteen team conference will have different results.
Oh. Talking about two teams in the top-ten, and just four BCS spots away from each other, I didn't pick up on the sarcasm.
My case would be that the bottom 6 in the SEC are a combined 6-33 in conference play and 21-39 overall and the bottom eight teams in the SEC are 44-46 overall.
The Big 12 has two teams with overall losing records, the SEC has four
"Don't know. Never had one"
-- D. Royal-Mack Brown how to coach a team after a losing season
Louisiana-Lafayette played Florida tougher.
And choked and lost
Yep, they sure did surprise, but what does that have to do with my post? I'm not the one that said Florida was a good team (although, I think they are, but it was Hookem89 that said Florida was a good team).
