"Hey guys, he (Blu) not that big, i think we can take him...yeah...me too....but you go first"
Go Big Blu!
Damn, that's a huge kid.
If his work ethic is anything like his brother's (as I suspect it is) then he will be a beast.
That kid looks like a hoss.
What are his stats? Age, ht, wt & #'s on the big 3 lifts?
Hopefully the city of Vidor (looks like they are in a Vidor Pirate gym) has changed over the years and that's not what those kids were thinking... at least I hope so for their sake. That kid looks massive.
17 yrs old
Just now getting into weights and first year power lifter. The coach says he needs to order the correct suit as he has no shirt or whatever to properly support him.
Three meets in last 30 days. Increased 115 lbs between first and 2nd meet and 100lbs between 2nd and 3rd meet. Last night he benched 300 squatted 530 and dead lifted 540. 1370 total.
Not as impressive as say Billings but he has a high ceiling especially in bench and dead.
In squat he has difficulty because the schools have had narrow rack bases. Once he spreads out those size 17 shoes touch the rack which draws a red flag.
So as he is learning the sport and proper technique he has continued to climb. We really are not sure how strong he is but I hug him and not him hugging me. Lol
Massive frame and yes he is working!
Holy shit...I mean...wow
I played against Vidor and I follow their sports. I also have followed 4 kids thru there to compete.
Great programs and great people.
Never a problem!

Those are impressive numbers for a raw kid. If he stays healthy and works hard, he'll blow up. With an already 540# dl, I bet he's pressing 4 plates in no time.
Heck I been trying to deflate some spots! Lol
Just kidding and that is what his coach and others are saying. The hosting football coach told me last night he saw the bar come off his shoulder when he came up through the squat.
Kudos to Coach Eddie Hatch. He really is helping our boys with technique and confidence.
Good to hear. I graduated from West Orange Stark and played several road games there in the 90's and it wasn't always pleasant. Anyway, probably shouldn't have taken the thread there. My apologies.
Back to Big Blu... any notable football offers at the moment?

Jesus are those other kids his same age?!
247 doesnt really have anything on him:
Now THAT is the way I was built when I wuz in high school .... of course, I only weighed 180 lb. ;)
Seriously, I am not a recruiting aficionado, is that Caleb's brother? (Just checked and yes it is, and there is even a younger brother) If so, is he a lock for the good guys? That is a serious lack of body fat for such a big feller.

Any contact from Texas?
Not to speak of.
Andrew is one of the under the radar kids for sure. Last year varsity on DL as sophomore but definitely an OL kid. High school program lost a whole coaching staff and had a tough season. I think when the spring rolls around he will see some activity. Likely going to a combine just for a little exposure and to see how he fairs. He definitely isn't movable and what he leans / pushes on moves. Basically first year Oliner.
Major was over Golden Triangle, but now Bo is the man.
I think they know.
Here's the Jr highlights again.
Yeeeah, I was always told to have plenty of gas when you drive through that town...
I actually stopped for gas, candy and a coke last night.
All is / was well!
Good to know...
Thanks for posting as always. I'm really pulling for Caleb to take over at TE. Looks like the gene pool is A+.
I grew up in Beaumont and remember so not so nice signs on either side of town on the highway shoulder. I also remember when the government forced the town to allow an African American family to move in. That was also pretty bad. I'm glad its changed there.
He's been moved back to DE.
FWIW, I like his potential at DE. He flashed some good stuff at the USA game.
