“We talk about it constantly,” Dodds told The Daily Texan. “If we ever did it, we’d probably start with baseball. There’s something about it that doesn’t quite feel right, but there’s people telling me that it might be safer to serve it than not serve it. It’s an issue. I guarantee you we talk about it at almost every other staff meeting.”
Anyone who can watch a Barnes basketball game sober is a better man than I.
Jeff I think you hit on a subject that will be very popular with this group!
"Leadership is wisdom, courage and great carelessness of self"
I think you can just as easliy apply this to the football games these days.
Yes those 14 trips to the NCAA are sure boring................what a stupid post!
"Hey, Frank! It's the bottom of another fifth!"
can you imagine the money that would be involved. we'd shoot up another $10 million a year
I was reading earlier that one school, maybe Louisville (can't remember), is selling dollar beers at their spring game.
Interesting tactic to get people in.

Alcohol during the games may help to deal with Manny's def...maybe being drunk helps to better understand some of the calls he makes
They also sell beer at their basketball games. Almost every year they are in the top 2 or 3 in revenue........
I've done that at home for every game. It does tend to ease the pain a little more.
I bet our crowds would get louder.
Beer at the Disch would be welcomed.......
Yep, it was Louisville. Here's the article:
The 2013 Cardinal football season might be the most anticipated in the history of the program, so its going to begin with the only thing Louisvillians might love more than U of L sports: dollar beers.
People always sneak in flasks or those single serve liquor drinks as it is. The school might as well make money off of alcohol since people are drinking in the stadium anyway.
I think it's a great idea because the additional revenue would allow Bellmont Hall to remove all of the Jumbotron advertising and cease all of the cheap promotional stunts (field goal contests, Taco Bell dot races, etc.) that detract from the experience of attending a Texas game. Maybe we could return to listening to the Longhorn Band and hearing updates on scores from around the country.
Of course beer will be sold at games soon.
Why don't we do it now? Morality and conviction.
Why should we do it? MONEY
So which one of those reasons is shrinking in American culture?
Exactly. Beer will be sold.
As I always say, we may not be in hell yet, but we are definitely in the handbasket.
Nope. Beer sales will just be more. Nothing will get removed. Mo money, mo money, mo money. Why shave any off?
