Somehow a train hit a float in a parade to honor wounded veterans. Several confirmed dead and many badly injured. Say a prayer or 10 for them and their families.
I know it's OT. I don't care. Staying in a hotel with 90 or so families who's love ones participated in the parade it's heartbreaking.
I got brains. I got big ol' brains. I got dinosaur brains.
Saw something about that on twitter. Terrible news. Thoughts and prayers to those killed, injured and there families.
Just talked to a buddy of mine in Midland. The veterans were on a flat bed trailer going to the Horseshoe Arena. There was allegedly a power failure in that area about 50 minutes prior to the accident. Witnesses allege that the RR crossing lights did not come down but the arms came down right after the first trailer had gone through and then the arms came down on the 2nd trailer. Then the train plowed into the 2nd trailer. Witnesses also said the train never blew its warning whistle. Tragic!
Thoughts and prayers go out to them as many if the vets were not from the area but were guests. They have been doing this for 9 yrs now. They were scheduled to go to San Angelo tomorrow for a deer hunt.
Hate to hear that.

Wow. Horribly sad situation. And I'm sure just crazy in Midland.
Just terrible man. You just never know. Broken record - live every day.

Not what I expected when I opened the thread. Very sad.
Who needs a whistle to notice a freight train coming when you sitting still on the tracks?
Prayers for all the families. I guess I am one of the few who looks both ways before passing over a train track whether the crossing lights are down.
I have a friend that help put that together and we have hosted the website since it was created. He is really torn up right now.
