Dallas Lincoln WR Emanuel Porter committed to TCU in August before ever playing a down in a football game. However, more schools have now taken notice of the basketball player turned football recruit and he has been invited to Texas' junior day on Feb. 23.

I was disappointed when I went to see Dallas Lincoln in the playoffs. Porter was hurt that game. Was really looking forward to seeing him.

Since this is new to Texas this year --at least in regard to offering sophomores -- What would you say is the approximate percentage of these early commits that wind up sticking with their original commitments?
I'm, admittedly, and old fart and stickler, but why can't players use another word other than committed?
If you are committed to a school, you aren't looking elsewhere. Just say my plan is to be a Horned Frog, but I want to know what other schools offer.
I don't mean to pick on this kid in particular as many are taking this tact, but these are boys on the verge of being a man and should understand what a commitment means. Has this really gone the way of a handshake? Is there any such thing as one's word?
Sorry to off-topic this one.
