Just think what could have been if he was utilized properly..
He can be a very good pro. Hope he blows everyone's minds at the combines.
Is there ever a positive thought on this board these days? We all would like to see some positive changes but the negativity on OB is over whelming.
Fire Mack and watch you'll get your wish
Pretty sure this site is not OB.
Yes that will be a joyous day when a man loses his job. That is the very definition of positivity.
Gosh, how can he ever survive on just $5 million a year??? I feel bad for him already
"I don't hate you, I'm just not necessarily excited about your existence."
Goodwin got playing time and made a difference in the from his 1st game as a true freshman, even played in the National title game, all the way to his wonderful performance in the Alamo Bowl.
I'd def. take him on the Houston Texans.
Rooster, you should send a link to your signature picture banner to Alex Collins with this
4th in line.
That or JG is just going to have to grow dreads in the next 3 years.

I'm glad we agree
Not a matter of Negative comments but more of the truth & the facts.
Love that a Texas kid plays for the North team.... What's next, South Carolina grad playing for the West squad?
id prefer the pats get him. would be utilized from day one.
Change Or Die~~
I am not happy with the last couple of years either. But, Mack is here at least for next year. We had better hope we have a really good season next year or this thing may take years to fix. I think Deloss has got his mind totally on how much money the program can make now instead of what is good for the future, Time for him to go for sure. Retire please. Plonsky, horrible. I think since we are stuck with this bunch for another year, it would be best for the kids if fan base was more positive. I feel pretty sure that everyone on this board , with exception of the trolls, wants us to win as badly as I. I think we have the talent , with the OL getting better, to be pretty good this year. Just hope our coaching staff can put them in position to succeed. Going to TRY to be more positive myself. Have to admit after last season, pretty worried about the D.
If you believe that a man's attachment to his job is due to only money, you are not a successful person.
I also did not say you needed to feel bad for him, but that is a long ways from only being happy when he is fired.
People who celebrate negative events are sad at best. Think of the crowds of Muslims who celebrated the loss of innocent life in NYC. Any feeling human knew that they were dealing with the lowest form of life.
Even though I agree that Mack should move on to retirement sooner rather than later, I will not celebrate that event if it is forced on him. He has contributed greatly to the success of the team both on the field and financially.
You comparing the loss of lives to Mack losing his job is just an asinine and stupid statement.
Mack will not "lose" his job. He won't coach Texas, but he won't be out of a job. He'll still be raking in a paycheck after he's no longer coaching, I can assure you. Mack also brought this on himself. When a man can no longer perform his job at a high level, and still refuses to step aside and let someone else do it, then it's become clear that it's only for the $. That's why people will be happy when he's gone. He has set this team back years, man. And for what? Because pride tells me he has to "right the ship" so people will still love him. He refuses to see what he has become, and in the process, he is not allowing UT to get back to the top. He's doing this to himself. I'm glad that he helped the university finacially, but 2 CC's and one NC in 16 years is hardly success, especially when he coaches at the flagship university, and should be annually competing for CC's. Unfortunately, he's content with 10 wins and holiday bowl appearances. I do not feel sorry for him, and will not care how he goes. He signed up for the job, and he knows the consequences that come with it. He makes enough to dry his tears when he leaves. He'll be fine
Would be nice if this thread got back to Marquise and his future...
What do people think about his role in the NFL?
Is he an undersized vertical threat a la Steve Smith?
Or is he a speedy slot receiver a la Wes Welker?
He was used more vertically than horizontally as a receiver at Texas but I'm not sure that's how he projects in the league..
Whoever gets him will get a great player if he is fully committed to learning his craft as a route runner given his speed and his attitude. They will also be getting a return threat and an underrated blocker for his size.
Hijacked again. Way to go Marquise! I can't wait for some smart GM to draft you in the NFL. I think you are going to shine!
Hijacked by sunshine pumpers afraid to hear anything negative about the program. It scares them to death.
I wonder where Goodwin ends up going. He could be lethal lining up on the opposite side of the field from guys like Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, and Julio Jones/Roddy White. Or he could be one of the building blocks for Andy Reid in KC. So many options
Sunshine is not such a bad thing when you get right down to it. I think Marquise deserves a little for standing out in the senior bowl. Pretty cool to have an athlete of his caliber, who seldom was available for spring and sometimes even fall workouts, to have been our third option at receiver. I think there are pretty good reasons why he wasn't a more primary focus on our football team. Of course we would have all loved to see him get more touches.
If we're sunshine pumped what are you guys pumping? It has quite an unpleasant odor. Se la vie!
It's not even sunshine pumpers. It's people tired of the board being a constant pissing and moaning session. Here's a positive post about Marquise Goodwin, and yet, we have to turn it into a Mack Brown bashing session. Awesome. As Bobby and the other mods have said, not every thread has to turn into a coach/program bashing session.
