247's Jerry Meyer breaks down Julius Randle's upcoming decision, scheduled for Wednesday at noon CT.
The Julius Randle announcement scheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 EST. is one of the more anticipated announcements in recruiting coverage history.
I really wish he'd wait until after the weekend when Kansas loses as a one seed in the second round for the second time in four years.
I'd rather him pick Kansas and beat up on Texas for one season than go play for that slimeball Calipari and his NBA factory.
This season really f'ed Texas' chances.

No, it didn't. Season had nothing to do with it.
not sure if serious.
I'll just say this, I was told what it would cost to land him and who was likely to get his signature. It was never going to be Texas. So yes, I'm dead serious. Low and behold......that school I was told about late last summer is in his final 2.
You are wrong.
National Director of Scouting & Recruiting Analyst
Don't buy it, just like I didn't buy that you felt Texas was leading for Randle.
Oh yes it did. Ask Gerry
Gerry I thought you said it was down to Kentucky and Texas not Kentucky and Kansas? What changed? Have sources you know of told you Texas is out?
I could give rip what you buy from me.
I guess Kentucky's season doesn't matter
Can't help you anymore man.
Beast, just quit while you are behind
I guess he is not coming to Texas. I guess it upsets you and it does me as well but don't take it out on Gerry. He is just giving you what he knows based on his sources at that time. Gerry wants Randle to come here. I am sure he doesn't like the fact that he is not coming here either man but that is just the way it is.
What will it take for the Top Talent in Texas to stay in-state? Its just nuts to me, a texas native, that kids would want to go anywhere else. I would have killed to wear "TEXAS" across my chess in burnt orange. Yikes. Im worried about our youth!

I'm not taking anything out on Gerry. I'm not upset. I've been predicting this on this site for quite some time.
Harsh, Gerry, as a mod here. Sorry to see you lose your cool. You're better than that IMHO.
Yeah. So anyways...
No you're not. But you basically said he had no integrity with his prior comments. I'm sure he doesn't need me defending him but your post was bullshit.
Maybe he should have not responded but it was well within his rights to do so based on what was intimated. I think it was measured and appropriate.
I didn't question anyone's integrity nor do I consider what he responded with as harsh. Christ on a cracker, I thought we were adults. What is with the drama?
I happen to disagree with him apparently. To be honest, I have no idea what he's been saying. Didn't know he felt the season played a part until this thread. I no longer pay for this site.....
I understand that Gerry has terrific sources and terrific info. But if he's wrong, I'll say what I think. Why is that so bad? I'm not piling on him for saying Texas was a leader, I just never bought into that. I have a very specific reason for that which I've outlined since last September.
Why don't you fill us all in on what you know and what your sources are saying then?

Ummmmhhhh!!! I will be glad when mad people are not so mad!
I am a HUGE Texas basketball fan. When I was in H.S. I would have done anything to wear "TEXAS" across my chest too.
But now, if one of my sons had a chance to go to UT, KU, or UK I would have a hard time trying to give them reasons to pick UT. And my reasoning has NOTHING to do with Barnes.
There is almost zero fan support for UT basketball. The atmosphere in the drum has never been what KU and UK bring in bad years. Their fans are passionate, supportive and knowledgeable. Our fans are demanding, whining, unsupportive, and not very knowledgeable as a whole.
We demand a top 10 program yet don't go to games consitently. We make excuses for that.....weak home schedule, uninteresting style, avg team, blah, blah, blah. Top 10 programs don't have to make excuses. They go to the games regardless. They are passionate and supportive. Just like we are for Football.
I WAS going to make an unfavorable comparison between being just another CBI entrant to being the #1 seed in the NIT, but after Robert Morris just knocked off Kentucky, I won't bother.
