If it's a close competition between McCoy and Wood, I'm not sure the loser transfers. He might still get a shot if the other one struggles. I would imagine if one guy establishes himself as the Man during the season, then the other one will transfer after the season. However, I would think Gilbert would be gone if he's 3rd on the depth chart at any point before the season starts.

If Gilbert wins, I could see McCoy going. Woods came in wanting to redshirt so that he would have at least two years after Gilbert left.

Hey Bevo 11 - I’d like to know what you know. Is there anything beyond the norm from Gilbert going on in the off season in regards to prep for 2011? With his means, I would hope GG is working on those mechanics with a QB guru.

I would be very suprised if we see a situation where the staff names a starter coming out of spring practices.

There is more value in seing competition through fall practices. this would also temper any transfer discussions.

With a new OC it's gotta be open. I thing the old regime was sold on GG no matter what.

I hope that this QB competition is so close that it is not decided until the fall semester starts. Its nothing but a win-win for the fans and the players if the QBs are competing hard!
