Connor Wood worked extensively with Tom Martinez in California over the Christmas break. Martinez is HIGHLY regarded, tutoring top QB's like Tom Brady. He runs Martinez Quarterback Consulting. http://martinezqb.com/
Wood has put on quality weight and is totally focused on capturing the QB job for Texas. This should be a fun spring and summer for us as fans.

+1...........Good find! Lets hope Wood (or whoever) gets a real chance to compete for the starting QB job. It would go a long way to improving the team next year.

Nice. I'm excited to see who emerges. I think that if Wood and Gilbert are even remotely close you have to give the nod to Wood.

No sweat. When the transfer rumors were rampant this winter I did some research and found that CW was intent on winning the job and not even looking at transferring. He did lots of work, not just spend some time in Cali.
Signatures are stupid. You should block them.

I think Gilbert is going to be on the outside looking in after Spring ball. As mentioned, this shows great initiative by Wood as a means of investing in his football future.

The question is if Mack will leave it up to Harsinwhite to ultimately decide who gets the starting job. Does Mack "overrule" them if they decide that Wood is their man?

I'd like to keep them all here but it's unrealistic to think that no one transfers.

cannot reveal who told me, but I would not post this if it were not correct. I have to ask you to trust me on this one. If I had just heard it, or picked it up as a rumor, I'd have tempered it as such.

That I don't know, but I would imagine that the QB that loses the backup battle between McCoy and Wood (I'm not discounting Ash, but those guys have a year up on him) would be the prime candidate.

Gilbert's not going anywhere. He'll be a junior.
Even if one guys initially wins the spot, he's still got to maintain it by performing on the field.
